Here's me. Telling a black guy he's late at paying child support. In a room full of black people. I previously insulted his credit and the fact he looks like he owns a 2005 Chrysler 300 about to get repossessed.

Do you hear that crowds reaction? That's a black audience laughing at a good racial roast by a fucking ginger bearded white dude.

I dont have an issue with jokes. I dont think you should be fired for making such jokes (can you be fired from being a comedian?)

I never said she should have been fired, and it wasn't a joke that she told. It was a hateful, racist statement.
These are obvious jokes.

Hers was a joke, too. That was obvious. Going on Hollywood's history of casting couches, decades old accusations of kiddie diddlin and the whole metoo thing, I'd say that these are not so obviously just jokes. Maybe they are, maybe they're not, but it indicates a sickness in the head that those thoughts would even arise.
So, basically a double standard. Not surprised in the least.

Jokes are jokes. I remember when the world thought Andrew Dice Clay was the the second coming of Alester Crowely.

When i was alot younger, jokes were funny to me, not because I was into that stuff but because it was so subversive. Working with children and watching my nieces and nephews grow up changed my view. But the world ain't me, so i don't expect that everyone shares the same value system or humor.

However, the hypocrisy from the left can be so galling...fuckers getting up on their soapbox trying to take down people for tweets they made as 17 years old kids who are now in their twenties...yet a dude in his forties gets a pass because he directs movies people like? The Big Ragu has a monster night at the NCAA tourney and right away people are dredging up tweets trying to make the kid look bad, but an adult gets a pass just because he's in the right celebrity circles? Foh.,

So for me to see these same people who pontificate and lecture like they float above everyone else have to deal with the world that they created is grimly satisfying: It heartens me to see that every once in a while they get trapped in their own snare.

Their outrage isn't based on any moral imperative, it's merely internet chicken-fighting among narcissistic fucktards trying to protect their percieved interests in comedy, politics or whatever tribe they signal to.

But let me be clear: This doesn't make Cernovitch and his legions good people anymore than it makes Lauras Dunham any kind of quality heffa for her so-called "activism." The existencve of people like tjhose two and their enablers are a plague upon social discourse in the West.

If you're a good standup you'll always be selling shows. There might be times where you have a few cancellations but if you have good material people will want to see you and for the most part there will be venues that will book you to make money.

Comedians have to weigh big corporate money against how far they are willing to go.

I don't really think this is something new. It took Stern a while to find a home, Opie and Anthony got fired twice before they found their home (and lost it because Ant went nuts and Opie and Jim can't do it without him).

Have any big sitcom comics done something similar?

Blue comics don't tend to make it that big in the first place on network TV in the first place. If they were going to make it that would be on something like Comedy Central or HBO.

That's the first thing that I thought of when all these James Gunn tweets were posted. Like yea maybe he's never actually molested a kid....but he sure seems to be obsessed with philia. In a 2010 skit, “Creepy Van Guy,” on her Comedy Centralshow, unfunny comedienne Sarah Silverman — she who said “I want to eat an aborted fetus“, that Jesus is pro-abort, and “I hope the Jews did kill Christ. I’d do it again. I’d f*cking do it again” — told a kid to pee in her mouth, then asked another unfunny comedian, Patton Oswalt, if he’s attracted to children.
The skit begins with Sarah Silverman driving a black van with its windows blacked out. The interior of the van is a phile’s dream, decorated to lure kids with candy, a TV set and a drum set. Inside are two young boys and a girl.

Here’s the dialogue in the skit:

Silverman to the little kids in her van: “If you’re having a good time, be sure to tell all your friends.”
Boy: “Hey, van lady. Can we pull over? I need to make pee-pee.”
Silverman: “Just go in my mouth.”

The scene then changes to Silverman walking up to Patton Oswalt at the driver’s seat of another black van.

Silverman: “Excuse me. I’m sorry, could I ask you a really crazy question?”
Oswalt: “Yeah, sure.”
Silverman: “Do you ever have weird thoughts about, um, children?”
Oswalt: “Jesus! Hey, I don’t know who you think you’re talking to, but I would never look at a child that way.”
Silverman: “I’m so sorry! I don’t know what’s wrong with me, I’ve been having these really strange….”
Oswalt interrupts her, “Oh, just just wait,” and with his right hand making the devil’s horns sign, leers at a teenage boy passing by: “Oh, my god, sign me up with that!”
The boy turns to look.
