It was developed by the Chinese Government in the 1960s for their military. Martial arts were banned in China at that stage due to a cultural revolution... I think. Makes no sense they would have official recorded tournaments against anyone. People will and do complain with my version, but I have found more evidence proving my version than theirs.

Sanda is to me what TaeKwondo would look like if it had a more realistic sport.

Its not a style. Its a ruleset of kickboxing. Just like k1/glory rules are a ruleset for kickboxing.

Punches, kicks, and all form of takedowns as long as your knee dont touch the canvas.

I did sanshou / sanda way back in 1997-1998
