S--t you hate in video games.....

Would buy DLC to watch Kiryu bang that woman's brains out as long as she didn't do the usual crying/I'm being assaulted Japanese AV noises.

For modern video games it's people wearing the same shit every fricken day. Lot of games have skins and costumers you can buy, so I don't think it's much effort. Like fuck Kiryu, maybe you can get a new suit for once in 40 years, or people can actually have a bit of a wardrobe.
Lol I've never even considered this. Hopefully it doesn't start to bug me now.

Currently I'm most annoyed by the rubber banding in FIFA that EA denies the existence of.

Bravo, This is a hilarious observation because it is so true in pretty much every game. It seems like in the 'follow' sequences w NPCs you always have to wait for them no matter what going at their pace and its ridiculous they out-walk you but cant outrun you.

This is likely for the same reason that almost all games have busy work now. Like traveling long distances or doing something mundayne like the finding something sequences. Like even in an action/adv like DOOM you spend a lot of time just searching for sh$$.

I do not know why for sure but my theory is that its because theyre so intensive these days on the graphics and the processors that they need some dead time...if it was all break-neck sequences and non-stop adventure itd take a lot more processing power. Also, this aids with the psychological components. Like the action is made more fun after you rode a horse for 10 minutes. It also seems to train you in the dynamics of the games physics.

Why does every npc that I have to follow for a mission run faster than my walk but slower than my run? I either trail behind or run into them. Also please don't give us a cursor for the menu on consoles. Destiny and Assassin's Creed I'm talking to you...

Red Dead IIs pretty recent and they have escorting missions. They can suck.

I like the regenerating it doesnt make logical sense but I dont like constantly searching for igridients either or napping its just more dynamic if it refills on its own.

Yeah, the person who conceived "Tailing Missions" should be tarred and feathered.

Escort missions are always a bitch too, but it seems like games have mostly done away with them in recent years. At least the ones where the person you're escorting can die easily, and you have to protect them at all times. I don't mind the Bioshock Infinite/TLOU variety, where the person you're escorting isn't some helpless idiot. Although, I honestly wouldn't mind them too much if they were just implemented like an extra challenge, and not a "game over" screen when they die.

Regenerating health doesn't exactly piss me off, but I think I'd rather have games make you work for it with items. Ducking behind cover to refill your health is getting a little old.

MLB The Show 21 seems to have it bad too especially when playing with someone in person. I hit 5 home runs in a row once against my cousin after being down 5 runs for 4 innings. Kind of ridiculous.

The number of times I've had highly rated CDMs and CBs completely abandon formation and just watch the opposition score goals after I get a lead is infuriating. It's so fucking bad that good players have attempted to break it down to a science and talk about best times to score and when to play super safe to wait out your rubber band period after scoring. Shit's insane.

This sounds minor... but I really hate when you can't interact with the environment/characters in a real way.

Like when there's a cliff but youre just blocked from falling off it or there's rooms where you cant attack or worse you attack the good guys and nothing happens to the characters even though your hitting them. At least have them complain or clumsily fall all over the place. Worst is when they just tell you Cant Do That Here

I love it when you can fall off and get lost in some weird spot even tho its a pain to get back.

Some of my favorite games are those where the environment and characters are interactable on every single level. Like you can kill characters at silly times but risk getting attacked. I love it in Red Dead II how you can harass the NPCs while following them and it totally messes up their dialogue.

It just kills the realism of the world for me when blocked actions happen and I think its just laziness on the part of the programmers. Plus if youre blocked then the interaction with the enemy is also blocked like if youre not falling off a cliff they wont either.

I remember a few missions with AI companions that can end if they get killed(which was jarring and really dumb), but not any actual escort missions, aside from a few side activities, where you have to take someone home, or whatever. Not much babysitting involved in those, though.

I don't mind it. I'm not hardcore or anything, and don't mind the cheap breather, but it does practically make a game a bit of a cheat, where you're really only in danger if you get extremely careless and impatient, or the game just throws a ridiculous gauntlet at you. I liked how TLOU did it. It's just enough, and makes you find a safe spot to apply it.

When you run faster than your tag along and the game auto kills them.

Yeah youre right they're not Escort missions I guess...you go into action w some guy and they can't be killed which is prolly AI. They usually help to... Im trying to think of a classic escort and yeah those were pain in butt cuz the guy always did the dumbest things.

The self-heal is cheating... TLOU1 does do it well and is a particularly well-made game. I love Unchartered 2 but the self-heal there is a bit cheap cuz you can just hide out in some spots (i say some cuz in others the onslaught or like rockets launching wont let you) until you heal, then go back out, then hide and heal lol. Some games are really tacky with it.

But, I love the witcher 3 but the amount of time gathering resources or searching for food and drink and panicking over a combat situation without them does slightly interefere with the action. That's the only complain ive of the game i love it.
