Ryan Bader: Cain beats Fedor every single time

A lot of guys beat Fedor more times than not. He's more myth than substance. Not to say he wasn't a good, dangerous fighter, but his legend has more legs than his actual record and ability did.
Fuckin' millennials.

100% this.

He was the greatest HW of his time, easily. We can have legitimate debates about whether he was the GOAT or not (I think GSP is), but make no mistake, the UFC's best HWs during Fedor's reign in Pride were Arlovski, Sylvia, & Mir. They were the guys who dominated UFC HW during that time. People who try to discredit him fail to realize during his prime, UFC's 3 best HWs were Arlovski, Sylvia, & Mir. Pride had the better HW division at the time.

Yeah, all those guys that beat him during his ten year unbeaten streak, wait...
Freaking waterhead baby.

According to some PRIDE fans, CroCop and Shogun got out of prime right after their tournaments were over.
Rules and environment completely changed to negative. From boxing ring to large octagon with wire fence, to unified rules.

It`s like you said that Peyton Manning or similar went out of his prime when he switched from NFL american football and started playing British rugby.

American MMA rules and cage are totally different from ring and PRIDE rules, and all changes were negative for Cro Cop`s style and chatacteristics.

Cain with hair freaks me out by the way

And logically, that inability to adapt and overcome detracts from their greatness...

Shoguns knee problems are well known, past prime Shogun still managed to become UFC champion. Crocop was a absolute failure in UFC, no doubt. But imagine if UFC had gotten bought by Pride, do we know for a fact every top UFC figher would've still done as well in Pride? We don't know for sure, as Pride's judging system counted "the whole fight instead of rd by rd" & emphasized things like who came closer to getting the finish for example. Pride's system didn't seem too great for wrestlers, whereas UFC system seems that way.

PRIDE rules and a ring vs a cage is definitely something that does not get enough attention here. It can make a big difference in game plans especially for non-wrestlers.

lets do it.

Cain vs Fedor next fight. make it happen Dana/Coker

In their respective primes, I think Cain probably wins most of the time, but saying 'every time' is asinine. I would guess it's more like 30/70-40/60.

Today, who knows, they're both brittle.

Yep. Most top 10 wins in HW history. KO power on the feet, high level TD threat, speed, vicious GnP, submission skills, heart and composure, definitely doesn't sound like the blue print for a successful MMA skill set to this day at all, prime Fedor was all hype for sure.

Add to that going 10 years unbeaten in a division where 1 punch can erase even the biggest disparity in skills as Cain knows all to well and it becomes even more obvious that Fedor's legend was far more myth than substance, hahaha.
