He had a super close fight with the guy who was champ for a while and ranked #2

He is young, and fresh to the sport, and seems to improve every time he fights

So no, I dont think so
 
thats a horrible comparison

thiago is a guy with good subs and pretty good at brawling, nothing like rustam

They were only evenly matched in the wrestling department. Other than that, Khabilov was 'hanging' for two rounds and then dropped out of the fight.
We've seen enough of him now to get a good idea of who he is:

- great takedowns, scrambles, top control
- can take strikes very well
- very average but awkward striking
- fights tense and gasses quite fast

He is very good at outpointing most fighters with the sheer amount of TDs, control minutes and frustrating even great strikers. But he'll continue to lose against strong wrestlers who can outstrike him and have the brains, discipline to follow Bendo's blueprint of constant pressure from the get-go.

Paulo Thiago might not be anywhere near skill level of Khabilov, but fluke early stoppage? Koscheck got KTFO, Get out of here clown.
