Would he? GSP's standing is not exactly Conor or Gaethje level, and Khabib handled them pretty easily.

The fight goes to the ground though, and Khabib breaks GSP's will after he gasses and wins by submission with his much higher level grappling.
 
Can't wait to see St. Pierre put the work in and put the naysayers to rest.

Oh I know, it's clearly a GSP who isn't even close to his prime, especially after having ACL reconstruction on both knees; which is all the more detrimental considering his style.

But still, I'll be willing to crown Khabib as the greatest to ever do it if he makes it look as easy against Georges as he has everyone else (save Tibeau). Depending how the fight goes, I could see GSP convincing me he'd be better than Khabib if he was in his prime even with a loss.
 
Age is much more significant in a striking contest.

A fight between two elite grapplers with 8 years seperating them should be close.
 
It'll be annoying if Khabib beats an old, out of prime GSP...

And GSP won’t gas. Even slowed down GSP after two knee surgeries was near impossible to gas out.


Khabib is Tailor made to lose to georges.

He can comeback and defend the LW title and set the record for most LW title defenses. Right now he's just tied with BJ and Bendo at 3. Defend the title as much as GSP did or surpass it. Even if he cleared the division, defend his title to the the newcomers like Jones then move up in WW. He doesn't have to beat a P4P great like GSP to elevate his GOAT status. DJ stayed at FLW all throughout his career and is still arguably #3 P4P.

The problem with that argument is that this fight with a likelyhood of about 85% will end up on the ground, where Khabib is superior to GSP. GSP would not be able to control Khabib even on top, so the scales will swing in Khabib's favor. It's an intriguing fight though, one that i would love to see even in 2021
 
Hopefully khabib isn’t scared to fight for legacy in 170 and not expecting a 40 year old man to come fight on his terms.
 
will watch and bet heavy on khabib. Too bad GSP is 40 and not yoel romero.
