Yeah but it makes for better strawmen and post to Like ratio to pretend that the average conservative or even Trump supporter holds the views of some mentally ill internet addicts that post pro-Russia propaganda.

Hey, look at this picture of a couple of boomers wearing a “I’d rather be Russian than a Democrat” shirt!

Conservative contrarians are pretty vocal online.
As Hofstadter put it half a century ago, "Today this fact is most evident on the extreme right wing, which has shown, particularly in the Goldwater movement. how much political leverage can be got out of the animosities and passions of a small minority."
I'd say that's more the case now.
No shortage of them here either.
It's been that way since the Great Neocon Exodus after Bush got reelected and everyone saw how wonderfully that went. Suddenly everyone decided they were Paleoconservative, Libertarian, isolationist, a Ron Paul supporter, anti-war etc etc. Which then fed more into the populist nationalism when the GFC and QE didn't result in Zimbabwe style hyperinflation and the focus shifted from economics to culture war.

Oh, the Baghdad Bob crew is in here telling me things are going fine - we're just not going to give them the "privilege of a fast go to home defeat." Awesome! What a win for the West, drawing this out like this to stick it to those dastardly Russians! I'll go back to reading about how India is giving the G7 a big flying fuck you over price caps, how European leaders are worried about the European economy grinding to a halt, how the Yuan is being used to trade oil bypassing Western sanctions, about how thousands of European business are shutting down because heating bills have gone up 10x, rationed heating, people going to jail over raising their thermostats.. This winning is awesome! And the cherry on top? That I can always count on coming in here to see the map of the week showing that that, despite all of this, things are going great and we're winning! Oh, wait, I'm "brainwashed" by "Russian propaganda" when I'm citing the Prime Minister of Belgium's statement to Bloomberg? Damn - sucks to be me! Those Russians go DEEP!

I'll come back in two months this time and see what new "things are going great" maps and good news you guys have for me then. See you in November when things are a little colder.
Full on melt down

Nothing inherently wrong with those ideas when approached with pragmatism instead of dogmatism. I think the problem here was turning the blind eye on realities that Ukraine was an actual nation willing to fight for their freedom and not some nation building ideal cooked up in Washington. That was made possible by the divisive mode of US/the west, which has been enabled and fuelled by both sides.

At least autocratic dictators know there's only two genders!

I don't think there's any real ideological consistency to the majority of contrarianism. The only consistency I can discern is the presence of reactionary delusions of persecution.
That's "The Paranoid Style in American Politics".
Nothing new. Whether it was Catholics supposedly baptising children and then murdering them to ensure their salvation, or causing the depression with a run on banks in the 1890s, or water fluoridation being a Communist plot for one world government in 1939.
Government (and especially a Democrat administration) is supporting Ukraine, therefore it's obviously bad.

Ukraines reddit saying ukr military requesting media blackout conserning troop movements or captured places so will likely be slower with news

Chinese President Xi going to meet with Putin this week where it will be the first direct meetings between the two leaders since the Ukraine war started and will meet in Uzbekistan. Putin going to sell his soul to get more aid from China this could become really messy for China and their endless need for oil and natural gas and Western cash. This could be a major turning point in the Ukraine war as a Chinese political official complained about Ukraine's Presidents administration having discussions with Taiwanese leadership.

I think this should be basic operational security for any and all troops. Risky business for everyone to have GoPros or iPhones and upload to internet. The enemy has the internet too.

hope people abides and at the end Russia is routed.

True.enough

Theres rumour of second assault being started in zaporizhzhia region (south-east) trying to cut land corridor to east if its true

Either way ukr said they will announce their gains when its safe

Looks like rus got a lot of stuff out of izium

Not good tactically for ukr since they can regrouped

They'll have to scramble to construct lines of defense and they have the further challenge of not having been able to rotate their combat troops off the front line for several months - leading to exhausted personnel and low morale (which might be part of the reason for this sudden collapse). If Russia had fresh reserves, they could try to counterattack before the Ukrainians dig in (once they eventually stop their forward momentum), but I've seen no indication that they've managed to put a serious reserve together.

Fog of war is still deep, though.

There is no ideological consistency in contrarianism, which itself is definitely not right wing exclusive.

China soon or later will f*** Russia up as no one else...
What chinesse are telling is just polite talks.
They never will openly tell what they will do with you. Never...

Chinesse conflict with Russia started when borders were lined up after WW2...1945...
Chinesse then had " ate " this in hope to get friends - comrades...
Kremlin attempted to use them and had used with a glance in North Korea war...
Then they assumed that it will be good if chinesse will have nuke and had provided nuclear reaserch assistance, helped to build enrichement plant and plutomium reprocesaing plant, research reactor and provided China with heavy water...

In 1959 th Nikita get that Chinesse wants to be an industrial nation and are able to copy trucks, oil reprocessing plants etc.
Then Nikita withdrew nuclear assistance....
_
China still managed to fool USSR and West and to develop nukes....
_
Then all periods always repeated: when Kremlin needed China to help " press " west...they were friendly with China...when no...pushed China back when saw that they aren't just peasants anymore...
China is annoyed with this during now 75 years....

__
The Uzbekistan and Kazahstan question is main reason why Russia is in danger.
These countries does have resources, enough notable and lucrative for China AND doesn't have sanctions applied on them.

For China it is very lucrative to control these economically and so on...while Russia wants the same ....
China also knows that they might have 10 soldiers in case of mobilisiation vs 1 from russia in case of mobilisation...
And China is larger ground army than Russia...

The same Uzbekistan does have gold, oil shale, natural gas, uranium and some crude oil too....
Kazahstan too isn't joke if we talk about natural resources for mining industry....
