There is no ideological consistency in contrarianism, which itself is definitely not right wing exclusive.
Definitely not, but there's a real lack of the sort of anti-GMO, anti-vax, anti-G20, anti-corporate, anti-nuclear, vegan, alternative lifestyle, neo-hippies you get taking up left wing contrarianism here on Sherdog.
Unsurprisingly, since while they used to be mostly Uni students, at least here in Oz they seem to be mostly middle-aged suburban housewives these days.
I would say it's far and away right-wing dominated at the moment though. Part of the global trend in populist nationalism. As was the case when Hofstadter penned his essay.
