if they get any they will not be the latest versions. They will most likely get a transfer of older airframes from a NATO country in exchange for the NATO country getting newer F35 or replacement F15/16. I think one of the big hangups with this plan is that it isn't just pilots that need training. You need to have a good ground crew and supply lines for spare parts and compatible weapons. it's funny how at the start of the war everyone said it would take months to train pilots...and here we are months later...

id imagine MLU F-16, or block 40/42 and 50/52 F-16

For some stupid reason we actually don't operate any of the more advanced F-16 beyond block 52+ such as Block 60, Block 70/72 or F-21

How realistic is it that they'll even get the older versions any time soon tho?
Arn't the (supply/maintenance)chains to keep them flying vastly more complicated?

Putin working hard on the distort the reality news by claiming they will unleash the hounds of hell on Ukraine and the West if they continue to aid Ukraine. He went on and said the US is running on proxy war on Russia by aiding Ukraine and they started the war "No pretty much what he is claiming". Russia just an innocent party and has to defend themselves from the big bad west. Mostly he is crying about HIMAS weapons and that it was unfair that the US is aiding Ukraine "I guess Ukraine has no say in their independence. lol".

How many more types of American weapons are in Ukraine without being declared by the USG?

You know things are going well or as well as the Russians claim it is when they are trying to turn the blame to US and that it is not fair for the US to get involved with Ukraine in anyway. Maybe they should have thought of that before they started that "Special Military Operation in Ukraine". What we are not going to sit on the sidelines when a democratic Country like Ukraine is being pounded by Russia. We agreed not to launch fighter aircraft and help Ukraine with a no fly zone we have not broken that part but sending defensive weapons that was really not included.

In fairness. Usa lost its shit at the thought of Russia aiding Afghanistan and fighting via proxy war. Remember the whole oh my God Russia is paying bounties ? Imagine the response if they were directly arming and training them to fight usa ? People would have lost their shit lol

What you aren't going to do is sit on the sidelines when a democratic Country is invaded ? that's funny. It's usually usa invading democratic countries and pounding them lol. And usa will do nothing for innocents being killed and countries being invaded provided its from their " allies "

Russia is most definitely in the wrong for invading but this " moral superiority " shown from the West in general sickens me.

Cant imagine the Russians ever directly aiding an enemy of the US

Russia has got themselves into a battle of attrition which I'm sure they didnt expect, now be isolated by many parts of the world and sanctions on top of sanctions will make Russia pay for what they have started....Russia is like Germany in WW2 , unless they take out Putin the country is going to suffer in many ways.

Russian nationalists on their social media furious at the government about the Crimea strike. They are accusing government officials of sabotage and treason. Brutal jokes made everywhere about the "accidental fire".

Oh but they were just defending a sovereign nation. ( joking )

Yes the soviets and americans enjoyed a good proxy war. Hell it was to good of a opportunity to not be involved in it they created the " gulf of tonkin " incident to justify their involvement.

Considering the war had been going since Nov 1955. Usa got far more involved after the Gulf of tolkin incident in " 64 "

So let me see. North vietnam aided by the Communists ( soviet and china ) started the civil war in the south in " 55 ". By ' 63 ' they had sent 40k North Vietnamese to fight in the south. Usa got heavily involved in 64 65.

Also another conflict where technically " war " wasn't declared to bypass legislation and legality in requirements to be at war. Without declaration of war.

In the Gulf of Tonkin incident in August 1964, a U.S. destroyer clashed with North Vietnamese fast attack craft. In response, the U.S. Congress passed the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution and gave President Lyndon B. Johnson broad authority to increase the U.S. military presence in Vietnam, without a formal declaration of war. Johnson ordered the deployment of combat units for the first time and increased troop levels to 184,000.[

We "the west " ( aus usa etc ) even used bloody conscription to fight there. Yay the west.

Quite a few similarities in the 2 I guess.

It's the one thing that bugs a few of the blokes in the military here. The openness of this mind boggles them.

One good thing about Russians in my experience is they always assume their government is lying to them.

Sidenote: whats up with these damn pop up blocker crap

LOL this is true but they get to pick and choose what is being lied about, and in dictatorships, foreign policy is not usually where they expect the lies to be

Hmm…..another thing Conservatives have in common with them Russians.

<mma4>

IDK, I find these numbers hard to believe. Seems like everyone who throws out a number these days goes a little bigger than the last. If this is true it's quite damning for russia.

Casualties means dead and injured. With the latter usually outnumbering the former by about a 3-1 margin.

Did Ukraine get the longer range missiles for HIMARS yet?
Can't see them hitting Russia this far back with anything else atm

They probably used a human cannon to fling Lomachenko behind lines.

To piggyback..

I used to interact with a lot of WWII, Korean, and Vietnam vets when I was active duty. A pilot from the Korean war told me how he met a Russian pilot at a ceremony in S. Korea well after the war.

The Russian said "Do you think we crossed paths in the skies above Korea?" (The Russians used to have their pilots fly the MIG as the N. Koreans didn't have enough trained pilots to be effective.) The American replied "No, because if we had, you wouldn't be here."

The American was a Korean War Ace.
