International Russia/Ukraine Megathread V7

Last thing to ask from russian soldiers is rationality and competence. I literally have seen on live stream for a couple of hours them throwing missiles in the plant in a chaotic way with most of them missing the 'administrative' building they were supposedly targeting. The only reason catastrophe was avoided in March was because the reactors have strong security layers and have been build so they can withstand a possible rocket attack.

they aren't going to 'rig it with explosives' to deliberately blow it sky high for no reason other than TEH EVILZ though; if ppl can't see through that level of extremely obvious propaganda then I don't know what to say to them (all I can do is point, try to laugh, then shake my head and walk away).

in any case, Russia aren't attacking the plant now, because it is in fact already under their control (and has been since March); indeed it happens to be the same one shown in the video (although the building being attacked wasn't part of the plant, but rather just outside it). It's Ukraine that's shelling it now. So if it does go pop, I know who the first suspects should be. ;)

People need to give their head a shake. Moscow is nearer to the Saporischschja plant than Berlin. Why would Putin want to blow it up?

Why would they blow up a nuclear power plant on land they control and presumably want to annex?

We don't know what they might do...

The same NG supplies to Germany and Co is thing they are earning a lot....
They still reduced NG supplies through Nord Stream I till approx 20% from casual supplies ammount....
Ofc in order to bully....and blackmail...

__
From economic point of course they now have NPP with nameplate capacity 5 700 000 kW to gird....
Also had captured themal power plant with nameplate capacity 3 650 000 kW....

& to build such Nuclear power plant ofc might require >20 b USD and 5-10 years to work...
& thermal power plant they had captured too most likely might require some >6 b USD and 4-6 years to build new like this...
___
If we are thinking money wise....like capitalists...

i don't know, the russians have been blowing up POWs and claiming the Ukrainians did it...

Yeah, might be next special operation: attempts to discredit Ukraine in order to change opinions in society about Ukraine...
With target: supplies and support to Ukr reduced ot cut off.

Initially was huge campaigns with claims that Ukr is selling weapons.
Then claims how easily all ukr equipment is destroyed...

After this: burned up prisoners and accusing ukr that they " had shelled prison ".

Since reactors are in safety coatings ( ВВЭР -1000 type reactors )....

Maybe they might afford to shell some buildings in order to make ppl in west to think " bad Ukr..."...

Rumor running around the news cycle that both US and Ukraine is denying that they are learning how to fly F15 and F16 fighter jets. I wonder what version of F15 they are flying because there has been many iterations of them and currently F15ex.

if they get any they will not be the latest versions. They will most likely get a transfer of older airframes from a NATO country in exchange for the NATO country getting newer F35 or replacement F15/16. I think one of the big hangups with this plan is that it isn't just pilots that need training. You need to have a good ground crew and supply lines for spare parts and compatible weapons. it's funny how at the start of the war everyone said it would take months to train pilots...and here we are months later...

"Pentagon official: Russia has had between 70,000 to 80,000 casualties so far in Ukraine-Russia conflict
Russia has had about 70,000 to 80,000 casualties so far in the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, Colin Kahl, Defense Department under secretary for policy, said during an on-camera briefing at the Pentagon on Monday. IDK, I find these numbers hard to believe. Seems like everyone who throws out a number these days goes a little bigger than the last. If this is true it's quite damning for russia.

Yeah, we will never know. I do feel this is a bit high.
But what was it Russia claimed? 1300?
So I guess the correct number is somewhere in between 1500 - 80 000

did they really claim 1300? lol just counting all the vehicles blown up and kills on camera probably gets you past 5k easily.

I think the only number Russia officially gave was in March and it was below 1500 as I recall it.
They have not given any numbers since.

Did Ukraine get the longer range missiles for HIMARS yet?
Can't see them hitting Russia this far back with anything else atm

I believe this 20k-30k killed and twice as many wounded. Very reasonable assumption.
