There's an article in latvian news that states that Shoigu has informed Putin that the Russians are in full control of Luhansk people's republic.

They say "according to sources", but don't provide any.

Article in Russian, since more people understand the language. Can't find anything in english right now.

Found the article in TASS (main Russian news agency) as well.

Lugansk has been liberated (or not, depends who you're asking.)

Russia says it holds all of Ukraine's Luhansk with capture of last city

"Russia's Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu told President Vladimir Putin on Sunday that Moscow and its allies now controlled all of Ukraine's Luhansk region after capturing the last major city, Lysychansk.

There was no immediate response from Ukraine on the Russian claim, which, if confirmed, would mark a significant milestone for Moscow on day 130 of the war.

After being repelled in its initial attempt to capture the capital Kyiv, Russia has focused on driving Ukrainian forces out of the eastern Luhansk and Donetsk regions where Moscow-backed separatists have been fighting Kyiv since Russia's first military intervention in Ukraine in 2014.

The Russian defence ministry said Shoigu had informed Putin of the "liberation" of the Luhansk region thanks to the capture of Lysychansk, once a major coal mining hub.

As Army General Sergei Shoigu reported [to Putin], following successful military operations, the Russian armed forces, together with units from the people's militia of the Luhansk People's Republic, gained full control over the city of Lysychansk," the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry had said earlier on Sunday that its troops had captured the villages surrounding Lysychansk, encircling the area, and were fighting inside the city.

Calls to the Ukrainian General Staff and Defence Ministry went unanswered. The ministry did not immediately respond to an emailed request for comment.

The Russian defence ministry added that it had struck military infrastructure in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, as well as a base used by foreign fighters on the outskirts of Mykolaiv in the country's south.

Russian forces seized Lysychansk's sister city Sievierodonetsk last month, after some of the heaviest fighting seen since Russia sent troops into Ukraine on Feb. 24."

Severodonetsk?
AFAIK 2? weeks ago Ukr confirmed that Russia controls 70-90-70% from city area.

Most notable stuff in Severodonetsk was Азот plant, had produced stuff maily used by factories producing fertilisers.

The most funny stuff is this Zaporozia Nuclear Power Plant.
It is very large nuclear power plant...
Ukr had confirmed long ago that Russia is physically ruling in this power plant and control territory.
+ some sources claim that they not only had killed firefighter, also had put in prison some tech personnel guys and demanding to sign some papers....
+++ IAEA can't do observation.
Usually IAEA is demanding not scheduled inspections when....remote supervision equipment isn't working as had been agreed previously with IAEA....

I hope that we will not have bad outcome cos this.

There is no "depends on who you are asking" the Russians are the invaders

Of course they are, but they're doing it to liberate their fellow russians from the shackles of the oppressive Ukrainian government.

Yeah, Kremlin is filling EU/EEZ with refugees, threating with nukes and blackmailing with supplies....
+ yelling.

IMHO deNazification sooner or later will be done also in Berlin...

There were attacks on Russian owned shops in Germany a couple months ago when the war broke out. Surely Putin won't let the Germans get away with this.

Btw one guy here compared Hitler army in Ukraine vs modern times and Ukraine vs Russia.

First thing...
Aviation...
Ukr now....if to be real, mainly does have 30-40 years old stuff....
Hitler had... 0,5- 4-5 years old airplanes and then modern models...

Tanks...
Hitler had. 0,5-5 years old then modern tanks.
Ukr....mainly 30-40 years old tanks with ammo designed before 1992 th....

Air defense....
Ofc after 24.02.2022 they get more modern MANPDS.
Before? LOL...
Systems with longer range ?
Best stuff IMHO C-300 1990-1992 versions...

MRLS?
Best stuff they had were Smerch launchers from before 1992 th era. ..
When ammo stocks for these had reduced....
Then....

Of course they are, but they're doing it to liberate their fellow russians from the shackles of the oppressive Ukrainian government.

lol...Russia should be liberated from the Russians, its the only way.

You'd fit in well in Eastern Europe, I like you.

<36>
Baltic countries aren't eastern europe nor mentally nor culutral heritage related.
Nordic or central european type...
Chatolics: the same as in Portugal, Spain or Italy.
Lutherans: approx like in Sweden or Germany.
Writing...latin based...esp if about latvian...

Character?
Lithuanians are more close to poles. ...unless their revenge stuff...
Latvians and Estonians: more close to germans from Nothern Germany or Swedes etc ..

It is mainly cos east want to sell them as eastern euros and claim about BS culural ties etc...
In reality these areas had longer ties with Rome and germans than with russians...

I don't have problems with you if you are russian guy, I'm 1/4 russian by blood lineage.

While...4 months in row we cos Kremlin are getting ....refugees, different threats, blackmail and yelling each day ....annoying crazy stuff.
+ old half crazy Lukashenko yelling that we might deNazify Minsk etc...

BTW if situation was different dream version and for example Ukraine had inveded Moldova and had filled my area with refugees from Moldova....
Then I had posted the same stuff about Ukraine...like now about my evaluation for Kremlin.

I know it was you, didnt just want you to get tangled in thread since rus are not exactly popular right now
I don't know about anyone else, but I take issue only with Putin, his lackeys and those sucking his financial teat, and anyone actively serving in military. It does not extend to the civilian population on the whole.
