Anyone got info what percentage of population in ukraine served in army before invasion? My google comes up with nothing
A quick search tells me there's mandatory 12 to 18 months service. Nothing about active duty though.

Hard to find pre invasion numbers.

Answered already. Disregard

Also, that guy that posted this is an idiot looking for attention. You don't post stuff like this.
All the 'wannabe' heroes. Too many Rambo movies.

Yeah its just mandatory kinda might mean nothing lol

My country is at 70 percent about, russia is at 30 percent(if remember correctly) etc

The Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact was a non-aggression pact between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union that enabled those two powers to partition Poland between them. This before Hitler stabbed Stalin in the back. What does this have to do with the current Russian/Ukraine conflict? Is the US planning to partition Ukraine with Russia? The US will certainly take over Ukrainian resources once this conflict is over. Zelensky is still thinking he is getting all this US help for free.

You are thinking that ppl in europe are stupid and you are smart?

Most likely really for average joe will better to work in western companies than in russian kleptocrats companies.
At least salaries most likely will be better and paid in time.

Btw it is funny how you here are calling this as "conflict ".

The U.S. Defense Department is still working out the details of a contract to send Ukraine larger Switchblade 600 loitering munitions that are capable of taking out tanks and hardened enemy positions. There is no date set for their delivery and questions remain about how many of the 'suicide drones' their manufacturer, Aerovironment, can make in short order.

"In support of Ukraine, the Switchblade 600 is being procured under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative,” Defense Department spokesperson Jessica Maxwell said in a statement on May 10. “The Department has no active contract for Switchblade 600s and has only procured a small number of prototypes for research and development purposes.”

The Pentagon is “actively working to establish a contract” to procure 10 Switchblade 600 drones, Maxwell said. The delivery date of those is not known and will be set once the contract is finalized, she said.
Heavier than the Switchblade 300 that is already seeing use in Ukraine, the 600 is also a man-portable, tube-launched kamikaze drone system but carries a more-powerful warhead for use against both vehicles and personnel. The heavier punch and longer range afforded by the larger drone make it well suited for use against the ongoing Russian offensive in the open plains of eastern Ukraine, where artillery and tanks are prime targets. The drone is armed with the same Javelin multipurpose warhead used in the Javelin anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) that have become iconic in the war for destroying Russian tanks. You can read more about suicide drones and their development in this past in-depth report.

Switchblade 300 drones are being supplied to Ukraine as part of an $800 million package of weapons and equipment being drawn down from U.S. stocks. The 10 600-series drones will be purchased directly from the manufacturer for Ukraine by the U.S. government.

Ten is not a huge number of loitering munitions that ram targets and explode, given the pace of combat in Ukraine. But Switchblade operators can abort a mission and recover the drone if the aircraft does not find a target. That gives the operator an added benefit over ATGMs and some other suicide drones that are essentially lost as soon as they are fired, whether they destroy a target or not. Both series of Switchblade include a “wave-off and recommit” capability that allows an operator to abort a mission and re-engage either the same or other targets. They can also be used for surveillance without attacking a target at all.

Switch blade news. The big 600 model has not been sent yet

Top intel official warns Putin's invasion could become 'more unpredictable and potentially escalatory' - POLITICO
Anyone believe this to be true after May 9th?
Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines testifies during Tuesday's Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on Capitol Hill.
Yeah, the same 'brilliant' minds who predicted the Taliban would take months to take over Kabul, Afghanistan, in 2021. The same minds that said Russia had the world's 2nd strongest military and would destroy Ukraine. The same minds that said Iraq had WMD, nuclear in particular. Same minds that said the US embassy in Benghazi, Libya, was in no danger in 2012. Same minds that said North Korea was years away from a nuclear weapon.

Putin has not declared war in Ukraine and has not started a full mobilization. Without additional troops Russia is bound to lose in Ukraine.

I mean yeah they COULD but Poland is a NATO ally and there are already some American combat brigades in Poland just hoping they try it. The Russian military would get absolutely smoked in a direct conflict with us.

Going by their performance thus far, I'd bet the US National Guard against the Russian, "elite" units like Spetznaz:)

No, you are the only one I think is stupid.

If you knew English, you would not think it was funny. Look it up in the dictionary.

I don't think that you are smart.
You maybe really believe Russia's excuses stories.
You think that Russia is doing something just cos....(_insert here any from their excuses and narratives ).
It is wild capitalism.

You will think that I'm dumb, I will laugh at you and that's all here.

That's not how it works. You made the statement. I challenged it. It's up to you to prove your position. I don't need to disprove it.

Just my two cents.

Retired SEALs buddy!
Same for retired US Special Forces, British SAS, and French Foreign Legion.
There are no active US military personnel in Ukraine.
"

Quoting a French intelligence source, a reporter from leading French daily Le Figaro has revealed that the highly-trained special forces from the United Kingdom and the United States have been stationed in Ukraine since Russia launched its 'special military operation' in the region on February 24.

As the UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv on Saturday and pledged to stand by the people of the country, Georges Malbrunot, a senior reporter for Le Figaro, highlighted the presence of elite military units in the eastern European nation.

"Boris Johnson's visit to Kyiv confirms London's place as Ukraine's first ally. “Elite SAS special forces units have been present in Ukraine since the beginning of the war, as have the American Deltas,” confides a French intelligence source," tweeted Malbrunot.

"The Russians don't ignore it, they know what the secret war is," he added in another tweet quoting his unnamed source as the newspaper included their reporter's input in their updates on the ongoing conflict."

But yeah no active military present on the ground French want nothing on it.
