2,401 Americans died in Afghanistan in 20 years.

In Russia, even pro-Kremlin sources are estimating that the numbers are much higher than that already:
"On Monday the pro-Kremlin tabloid
Komsomolskaya Pravda published some interesting numbers for the total Russian dead and wounded in Ukraine as part of a cut-and-dry rundown of the daily briefing by the Russian Ministry of Defense. According to the initial posting, the Russian military has suffered
9,861 dead and 16,153 wounded in Ukraine since Vladimir Putin expanded his war there on February 24."

According to "conservative" numbers from US military intelligence at least
7,000 Russian solidiers had been killed in Ukraine as of March 16.

The last Official Kremlin casualty report was 498. But that was on March 2. That was one week into the invasion. Even if you just pro-rate the Kremlin's numbers, which are almost certainly WAY low (its not even legal to call this a war in Russia, after all), they've lost more troops than American did in 20 years in Afghanistan by now.
