Is there any language in the contracts that stipulate what currency is to be used for payment? Who will determine the exchange rate if Russia pays in rubles?

Nothing concrete about the details yet - Uncle Vlad gave a week to tie all the untied ends.

China has over 3 trillion dollars in reserves. One has to wonder what they're planning after what was done to Russia and Afghanistan.

Looks like I have dig into Nabokov because I'm am emigrant and "outsiderism and distrust towards ideologies" is very much my thing.

As for "the west", I don't really care if they're Rusophiles or Rusophobes, I'm just sick and tired of Russia fucking itself up all the time and making common people pay for it - like for example RIGHT NOW. If normalizing things means purging the entire political class OR decommunization OR full demilitarization OR even foreign occupation (like in Germany post WW2) - again, if this fixes the shit Russia's been swimming in since the 11th century, I'm 100% in support.
Hell, I suppose that even a Chinese takeover may potentially be better for people in the long run. At least Russians can have the "strong leadership" they seem to always enjoy while the economy could finally (maybe?) flourish. Unlikely scenario tho.

You don't understand MAD.

Let's take the Navy and it's nuclear weapons. I know a bit about this, someone else will have to take a land base rundown.

We have the capability to destroy Russia with just our bommers ( subs that launch nuclear missiles that can reach any Russia city). And most likely plenty left to fuck up China a bit.. Yes the Russians have some boomers but no where near the capability of ours.

You talk about an em this will not affect boomers other then to cut comucation to them. Once that happens they assume in the state the world is the US has been attacked by Russia. The crew now believes everything they had and loved is most likely dead and gone. They have orders and targets already they will launch. This will give their position but they are expendable now anyway. This missiles have mutable war heads and time on target will be short.

Now the aircraft carriers also have plenty of nuclear weapons. Once this kicks off they will think the same as the subs and launch all bombers with nuclear weapons on board. They practice this all the time. They can launch everything in a very short time with all 4 cats going. They have long range missiles to take out anything in coming. The have the whole carrier group to provide protection while they launch. After launching they are expendable. This is just thr start and I haven't gotten into tactical nuclear weapons the fleet has.

MAD means just that. The odds are great the US would come out the "winner" whatever the hell the winner actually ends up being. Mostly a moot point.

At the outset of this conflict most military analysts predicted Russia would take Kiev within 2-3 days.

Here we are a month into the war, only one Ukranian city has fallen, Kiev stands, Ukranian forces are launching counter-offensives, and Russia has already lost more troops than America did in 20 years in Afghanistan.

But there still seems to be a sizable group of posters arguing that this is going WELL for Russia...

Is this just the WR having a strong pro-Russia bias (which it may have)? Or an anti-mainstream media bias (which it DEFINITELY has)?

Or am I missing something?

I wonder how this plays out. Russia probably doesn't want to use up all the foreign reserves they have access to but if they pay in rubles will there be any problems in getting that currency converted? Would this be like me trying to pay with a check even though the bank will never cash it?

Your not missing anything, by all means despite the bullshit, russia wanted the key cities controlled within a few weeks max. And now its essentially a stalemate with severe economic costs. A stalemate is nothing short of embarrassing for putin.

The only way you could surmise that this is going well for russia is if you only count the two eastern territories russia secured as the main point.

not that it matters, but I'm pretty sure the larger nuke scenario is like the hypothetical last step where MAD would kick in. If large nukes are flying towards NATO military bases that's where the preprogramed counter measures come in and wipe out their respective targets. Nuclear war isn't something that you can really go tit for tat on

So....how would having a nuclear exchange with Russia be in the interests of the American people? Why are we risking this possibility again? And what right do our so called "leaders" have to put us in this dangerous position? Its almost like they're deliberately trying to destroy the country
