Meh, he's made zero secret in other threads about his absolute disdain for the west and wouldn't bring himself to even comment on Russia's actions and the overall detriment that Putin is to humanity.

So there's some context outside of this lone point.

Yeah my reply was glib, but just as an example-had you posted what he did I'd never have replied that way.

But I'm also mostly not replying with malice with smart ass stuff like that. I like @Dexter and he's an unabashed shill for Russia. I'll make smart ass comments to him but it's not personal.

This is pretty dumb.

The largest encirclement in military history was at Kyiv.

700,544 men killed, wounded, or captured
411 tanks and SPGs destroyed
343 aircraft destroyed
28,419 guns and mortars lost

Russians also lost another 700,000+ troops in Donbass, Crimea and against the Sea of Azov shortly after.

Sea of Azov loses
106,332 killed, wounded, or captured
212 tanks destroyed or captured
772 guns capture

Kerch losses:
570,601 killed, wounded, or captured
258 tanks destroyed
1,133 guns lost
417 aircraft destroyed

Also hundreds of thousands more at the sieges of Sevastopol and Odessa.

He’s really gone off the deep end since Biden became president. He went from one of my favorite posters to someone I’ve recently started mentally filtering out.
 


So now there's even a possibility that Ukrainians could end the siege of Mariupol. I wonder what's the moral of the encircled Russian troops northwest of Kiev? Will they hold the line, try a breakthrough or surrender?

Gonna need a source on this, this would be the best thing regarding this conflict if true.

This is the way to save face and proclaim victory. All the vatniks at home will eat up the propaganda and the fighting will stop. This would be like China’s 1979 invasion of Vietnam.

Which would make American debt seem worse since shelter and secure investments are more justifiable reasons to take on debt, except that I think American household debt is just over 100% of disposable income and Australian household debt is just over 200% (or for another metric, over 21% of Australians have a debt to income ratio of 6x or more).

This is likely to mean a more concerted effort to push beyond the "line of contact" that separates Ukrainian government-held territory in the east of the country from the Russian backed separatist "people’s republics" of Donetsk and Luhansk.

Western officials believe the announcement implies that Moscow knows that its pre-war strategy has failed.

"Russia is recognising that it can't pursue its operations on multiple axes simultaneously," one official said.

As many as 10 new battalion tactical groups are being generated and put into Russia’s operations, especially in the Donbas.

Western officials have been concerned for some time that Russia will attempt to encircle and envelop Ukraine’s best fighting units, which are stationed along the line of contact.

If more Russian firepower, particularly air power, is concentrated in the east, those concerns will rise.

"I hope that's where the Western supply of arms will make a significant contribution to Ukrainian forces," one official said.
