Not saying the 10.000 figure is correct, but the "official" Russian figure being lower isn't useful as proof it isn't true. Hardly a true word has come out of the Kremlin during the past three months.

And if Russia has in fact suffered 10.000 KIA, it isn't "nice" at all but a sad, bloody waste.

The 10k figure is supposed to be from an official Russian source though so it doesn't make sense the Russians would say 900 one week then 10k a week or so later. I agree nice isnt the right word but it seem people are too quick to believe anything pro Ukrainian without being critical enough first.

Well, I'm not sure who are "Latvians descended from Russians"? They either have Russian (Russkies or other nations) roots or are Latvians (Latvians appeared as a result of the merger of the Baltic (Latgalians, Curonians, Semigallians and villages) and Finno-Ugric (Livs) peoples during the existence of medieval Livonia in the 13th-16th centuries).
We speak in Russian because I know only a few words in Latvian .

It makes perfect sense if the 900 figure is the public number and 10.000 is the unofficial, "true" number which was accidentally posted, shared or leaked.

It is always one person who thinks differently (within the scientific community) who starts the paradigm shift. At least that is what the history of science has shown us. We shouldn't dismiss anyone (within the scientific community) with contrary views to the majority.

Too slow. That seems to be the normal speed for an artillery shell or regular missile.

Putin didnt plan to kill people, it was just that Ukrainians didnt lay down like they were suppose to. Meaning what your intentions are have very little to do with the actual damage you create.

No, he thought they'd roll in and be viewed as heroes. Maybe he didn't "plan" to kill that many people, but you send in 200k troops, someone is going to die... but, they did come to take some of their land.

The fact that it isn't too far from Western intelligence estimates from agencies that have been pretty spot on in their other information about the conflict makes it seem more likely, though. But there is no way to know for sure, unless someone inside the Russian Ministry of Defense is a sherdogger.
