To station troops in Greenland is more expensive than in Chukotka without joke. Logistics very expensive and life super boring and annoying. If you don't do fishing you will need very expensive food supplies. Also they doesn't have crude oil or even refineries for this nor coal mines.
Therefore main base load is provided by diesel power plants operating internal combustion engines and using imported fuel for this.

In Chukotka you might get more food with hunting and they does have also some coal mines. From mining resources mainly tin and gold.
Greenland doesn't have coal mines or mines producing gold or tin.
