International Russia/Ukraine Megathread V15

USSR had casual mandatory military service terms for guys also in peacetime.
Usually 2 years.
So they had enough material to send to afganistan " material " without mobilization.
Ofc not 650 k in one moment.

Usually they had sent to afganistan guys after they had some 4 -6 months training under belt or longer.. also ofc these who had 12, 18 months mandatory service term under belt.

Ofc were used some reservists too but these were with ranks not private etc... some starshina, praporschiks etc....
praporschik was rank below lieutenant.
( ussr had Jr lieutenant, Lieutenant and St Leutenant ranks, after this was Captain, then Major, then podpolkovnik ( it is lt colonel equivalent for ground forces in west Usually)....after podpolkovnik is polkovnik ( colonel ).

since ussr had mandatory military service and conscription mechanism in peacetime 2 x each year, they might relatively flexibly vary numbers of guys they might conscript in peacetime.
Needed more, conscripted more guys, needed lesser : conscripted lesser guys.
Because anyway they needed also workforce for economy.

Even unemployment officially didn't had existed, 0 unemployment benefits for example.

for example about ukrainian conscripts in Afganistan is stated that ~ 160 000 conscripts had been used in Afganistan. However ppl might assume that it was horde with 160000 from ukr installed in one timeframe..
However this is if to drop next sentence : " during 1979 - 1989 ". This means that it is total number for period during 1979-1989 ....

& btw it is assumed but not Cleary proved that USSR had some kind of hidden policy how to reduce real unemployment % without admitting that unemployment does exist...

☆ since officially adults should had been students or working if they aren't disabled or pensioners .... otherwise parasite.......
__
1. Suitable was to conscript for casual mandatory peacetime service more guys form areas with higher real unemployment %...In order to keep ppl busy.

2. It might look ridiculous but if we know that in USSR officially all athletes were on paper amateurs... therefore had been on paper enlisted that they are ...blin . .that they are " working " somewhere.
LOL, real life...

There is core of reason also why former socialist countries and now North Korea ofc ....had produced damn a lot of weapons and ammunition, mines, missiles , bombs and tanks etc ;
unemployment should not exist...

how to achieve this?

☆☆ you have production line and produce production even if you don't need this.

Therefore this insane ammount of mines ussr had produced despite didn't needed to use them... mountains of large anti tank mines alone is one of ussr economy achievements.

btw tales about tactical nuke are for mainstream mass media customers...
Putin doesn't needs this, pretty opposite...

Unfortunately for Ukraine they will have a lot of demands from lenders due debts ....and these demands will have impact on Ukraine worse than some small tactical nukes....

IMF already is pressuring Ukraine to take some fiscal measures....and IMF is just one from these.

There are also EBRD, IBD, WB and some xx other lenders....party is slowly starting to warm up....it is just beginning..

Country might be conquered by sword or with debts...if I remember Adams told this....

Ofc better if not only state treasury and companies, also private persons, casuals will have more and more debts....more debts = Better.

Grants too might turn into pressure mechanism....for country, company, private persons.
Why?
Because usually they are with clauses....provided cos you will do certain task, be this to improve landfill or conduct research about this or this.

If you don't do this, usually clauses are that you will repay grant back... where you will get money ....your problem...
Clock tick tack tack...
Might end in court and clock tick tack tick tack....

Pugacheva is well known brand not only in Russia.
Her name is so popular that unfortunately more than 30000 internet parasites : bloggers and money hungry trolls are using her name for fake stories and bullshit articles more than 15 years in row.
• fake stories
• stories about xxx different diseases she does have
• guessing that she soon will die
• talks that she is bankrupt
• discussions about her net worth
etc.

Actually this internet dirt trash wants only clicks, attention for their blogs, websites etc in order to get more $ from their shitty " resources ".
Different healers and magicians in long rows are claiming that she was or is their client ...LOL, in order to get trust from potential clients!
Different batches of diagnoses according to them they had remowed ♥ etc.

It is annoying ....

they don't have to be Russian journalists, they could be any type of journalists, just not agenda institutions.

They have a clear political mission, they're very obvious about it, so they report things and present things in a way that serves that political mission.

Hence it's not objective.

It's like the Epoch Times and its relationship to the Communist China.

It exists strictly to slander the Chinese government 24/7 (and again, I'm not criticizing their agenda, I'm strictly highlighting that these are biased institutions)

what are we talking about here, the fuel stuff?

with regards to that, it's possible that some successful Ukrainian oil strikes are actually minor and get repaired easily, or some are reported as successes but really aren't.

data is an attempt to represent our world in numbers and the way every data point is collected isn't perfect because of real world variables.

that's why Trump consistently outperforms data expectations and economists end up being wrong about things.

so again, you took a fact and led yourself to a conclusion because of your bias and agenda (and again, it's okay to have biases and agendas. It's a natural human thing. Maybe you're Ukrainian. Maybe your heart bleeds for your homeland. I understand, everything here is tragic).

During the Soviet Union Afghan war, there was an observed pattern that people from all the major republics were mobilized disproportionately when it comes to their cities vs rural areas.

It wasn't just Moscow and St. Petersburg, it was also Kiev, it was also Tashkent.

It's a systemic thing that might even go back to the Napoleonic wars.

I don't have answers here.

Maybe it's an economic thing. Maybe it has something to do with mobilization challenges in cities. I have no idea. Maybe, as you suspect, there's something insidious about it.

It's normal to criticize Putin in Russia but obviously limits are imposed on people with respect to that.

Again, it's complicated and fascinating.

There's a lot of stories to tell about how Russian celebrities behave in regards to that:
  • Pugacheva ran away to Israel and cried for the pain and suffering going on in Ukraine. She's a musical giant in Russia and her heart couldn't handle it.
  • Some big Russian rapper, Morgenshtein or something like that, protested the war and called it a war when it was illegal (it's still illegal I think but people care less about watching their speech) then fled to Kazakhstan. Somehow he came back a couple of years later and kept his stance but didn't call it a war on television again (but kept implying it and protesting against the war in a very special way of communicating)
  • Then there's Sobchak, who is the daughter of some important KGB guy who had a big influence on Putin. She seems to be able to protest the war and say bad things about the current regime without getting in trouble. Some speculate that Putin has uncle-like sentiments towards her because she's the daughter of that important KGB guy

It seems like you don't understand a lot about Russian society and Russia as a country.

Yes, the democracy they legally practice isn't a real form of democracy.

Yes, there are human rights abuses.

In my opinion, these are all symptoms of poverty.

People talk as if there are examples of poor countries with strong democratic infrastructure.

I wrote about this topic before- I'll try to scroll back on the pages and find it later.

A lot of people who post on this thread seem to be really dense-minded.

The vulgarity, the rudeness, etc., it's so immature and pathetic.

You're not telling me anything I don't know.

It seems like everything you say conveniently breaks in favor of Russia.

I have distant family all over USSR including Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, etc.

You're downplaying and ignoring serious symptoms which are easy to see if you're not being a propagandist. Seriously why is Russia importing Chinese gasoline? Why are cars lined up for kilometers and limited to 8-10 liters?

You're all heart buddy.

also a big reason why a big chunk of Russians are apolitical is because they're ultimately too family-oriented to focus enough beyond their families. This applies to the republics as well.

They get culturally instilled to love Russia passionately but at the same will emigrate in waves because they ultimately care about their families more than their patriotism.

What a hilariously naive take. No, they are apolitical because they know what happens when you say the wrong thing or cross the wrong people.

They move abroad for economic opportunities that's not a big secret. They make like 1/10 or even less in Russia than they do in US.

Prior to Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine, Russian-backed separatists and the Ukrainian military were already fighting a war in the Dombas region since 2014. The 2022 Russian invasion is an escalation of that war. Most people in this thread don't know this. They think it was just something Putin thought up overnight and did it the next day.

Wow the war didn't begin in 2022? This is the first I am hearing of this...thanks Stolen Valerino ...

President Flipflop now telling Zelensky to surrender more land than necessary...

... I knew that guy was a weak negotiator, but he could maybe do with sorting his stance out, we're getting whiplash here.

I don't understand it either. He's all over the place.

You're not telling me anything I don't know.

oh yeah I forgot the part where you know everything about everything. keep forgetting what type of genius you keep reminding everyone that you are.

my fault, sorry about that.

so, what I said is we don't know. We know it's a serious problem, we're discussing whether it's a type of problem that will change the outcome of the war, and we don't know that yet.

there's indications from different directions (you can count this China thing as an indication), and my assessment is that it's not going to change the outcome of the war, but I don't know.

Yes.
BTW in Russia always was thing about what you should talk ...in order at least career opportunities, like get promotion etc.
If you say wrong things, you will not be happy.
& in Tzar times you should tell that Tzar is wise and blessed by God.
Priests specially taught ppl how properly respect Tzar.
Even had anthem like God protect tzar etc ...

So ofc it is good thone never tell that Tzar was wrong there or here.

Also ofc feodal hierarchy : stuff like dukes , barons and hierarchy levels....
Metrics with origin : feodal, servants and sales businessmans, craftsmans, workers, peasants...
Religion you have.

In soviet times : mandatory talk according official guidelines. Capitalism bad, sales businessmans = spekulants, monarchy = bad...
While churches weren't banned, huge investments to teach ppl scientific athesim had been done.... also for students.
While Religion usually wasn't questioned, better if you mentioned that are atheist , especially good if had good marks in scientific atheism!
Scientific communism too had been taught, btw in unis mandatory.
Also Marxism- Leninism. With exams! Ofc better marks = better.
While to be party member wasn't mandatory, if you get accepted you had better chances in your career. While nothing is for free : party had mandatory membership fees and also when they collected money donations for different funds, it was advisable to donate more and not advisable not to donate.

So such life order.

Now are different times, new mandatory flowchart how to talk etc.

They make like 1/10 or even less in Russia than they do in US.
Depends from location and position, company etc.
Might be 1/3 and might be 1/30.
However good mortgage in decent areas in Moscow or St Pete is very expensive....
They does have for example buildings with flats and apartments built recently and normal modern standards.
Also does have a lot of buildings where irl 0 cent had been invested in upkeep/ normal maintenance some 30-40 years in row, so imagine comfort level ?

BTW common flowchart in Russia is : party United Russia is best, Putin is smart and good, also reccomended tell that patriarch Kirill is good and so on.
Good if you attend russian orthodox church under patriarch Kirill ...

I knew that Moscow patriarch will always tell how beautiful is Putin and it was common flowchart btw, nothing strange.

However I was surprised when he told that Russia is fighting with evil, satanic forces in Ukraine....
Also Kirill is blessing weapons. In some cases had ceremonies for ships and swords etc.
Tanks yet weren't blessed, maybe will come soon also these....

BTW for Ukraine are a lot of bad news. Appears that most likely lenders are pressing ukr to take fiscal measures , first more well known is IMF.
Also according Kiel Institut during last months military supplies aid to Ukraine had decreased.

Also very bad news about ukr air defense.
During last " show " they had shot down only 80% from drones and 0 ballistic missile from 26 fired. And this is stuff ukr admitted..so imagine that most likely had been shot down lesser than 80% from drones, definitely.

Russia Also is producing more gliding bombs and now are employing more drones with fiber optic cables.

Putin is reported about good results in frontline and ofc will order to continue all planned 2025 th : funds for special operation booked and will be there, guys he does have and ....

Most likely China, Belarus and North Korea are very happy and most likely will advise to continue special operation all 2026 th too.
Because for them it is good....economical and geo political reasons with short and long term goals.
