With Japan stuff is very interesting.
After Russia started to recieve ammunition and explosives supplies from North Korea and Kim told that sanctions doesn't work and he will continue missiles tests and prepare for big war.... Japan started to help Ukraine.
In 2023 th they had signed warrant letters for 4,5 b $ loan from WB for Ukraine...ukr had get this money.
This year Japan together with U.K managed for Ukr next loan 1,1b portion and Ukr already had get this money....


Now this summer Ukr maybe might get next 4,5 b loan from WB IF Japan's State Treasury will sign next guarantee ( warrant ) " letter ".....
Will see...

We need to get some weapons from Japan.
For $ ofc , not as gift.

Europe will not deplete their stockpiles ....in no case, regardless what will happen with Ukraine, sorry for reality.

While IF some european countries will be able to purchase missiles from Japan, then they might use them for their own stockpiles and some missiles they already does have they might sent to Ukr.
This doesn't means that Japan's weapons will be sent to Ukr. NO.

Putin already long ago had ordered to prepare bills for reconstruction in Luhansk oblastj.
Ofc from federal budget cos oligarchs will invest in mining industry and factories but as usually will not care about other kind of stuff. Like in Checnya....

When some more normal russian will see just alone bill for Severodonetsk.....even 2 bottles of vodka will not be enough to forget this bill.

Things are a lot different this time. Nato and the West arnt taking a knee this time to Putler and a lot of the money he saved has been frozen and first 50 billion has gone to UKR and west will funnel more in in due time. The financial situation in Russia is getting worse and is basically a pressure cooker with Vlad cooking the books as long as he can.
Biggest question and fear is what's going to happen when the inevitable collapse happens.

Oil Refineries don't effect the gas market.

Gas is probably not allowed to be hit. Europe needs hydrocarbons.

Refineries being hit theoretically should result in more hydrocarbons being pumped not less.

Russia needs to sell more oil to purchase the refined products they can no longer produce enough of.

Probably a lot more oil because Russia is in a position of weakness and will likely get gouged on the above deal.

Putin told that special military operation is going as had been planned and will be continued till all tasks will be done. He told that he managed to lower unemployment % and this is proof that russian economy is rising despite bad sanctions applied by " Global Enemies ".
Patriarch Kirill long ago had told that this special operation is in order to fight vs Satan and EVIL ....

Tbh Europe should not deplete their stockpiles, also in ukranian interest if we consider long run rather than short time needs

Reality is even considering current situation bit of def increase is inevitable to wich extent is the question, since lot euro don't consider (and they're probably right) Russia a direct threat to their own nation

All depend how war will evolve and how long will last (in case we have YEARS of it ahead), euros increasing defense budget and reinforcing themselves keep alive the question if they would upgrade level of alliance/support to Ukraine and in that case how effective they would be

Because realistically russian push is also related to win as much they can without level-up to avoid western side level-up their support too, so a stronger (specially in the sense of well equipped) europe help to keep Putin more hesitant

Russia did try to invade in 2014 they just were stopped and didn't prepare for any sort of resistance from Ukraine. There was a lot of glossing over that original conflict and there seems to be a popular narrative that it was just some peaceful capture of Crimea..

But the reality is Russia tried to push for Odessa as well but got the shit kicked out of them and suffered over 10k casualties.
 
The Summit for Peace had a number of OPEC members even Saudi Arabia but UAE, Qatar, Iraq where interesting adds as they signed the end of war declaration Saudi did not go that far. I believe for UAE, Qatar and Iraq it's over Iran and China and they need to avoid a conflict with Iran that could pose a threat to their Countries. A lot of them realize that their countries are in direct threat and they need Western Weapons such as fighter jets, Patriot missiles, German guns and Ukrainian drones.
