Therefore Putin needed just to keep active disputes and with this might had prevented Ukr accepted in NATO. Without war 2022 th btw.

Regardless of the outdated stuff, even just as a StarCraft player, a rush to Kiev would be failure as the distance would be too far to maintain and attacks from both the north and south in a pincer would easily cut off. It makes no sense.

It makes sense to secure the eastern portion, which has a lot of minerals, etc, fortify that, and then mine those resources as an expansion base.

They aren’t going after a bunch of farmland they know the UN will tend to anyways to feed the starving around the world. Russia already has enough of that

Avdiivka was small city with approx 30000-33000 inhabitants and very large coal coke factory for metallurgy industry.
Cos when coal coke is produced also gas is produced such intallations also does have thick walls and nice basements and some tunnels.... cos this gas is flammable and actually is used in for heating something etc.. ( usually ) ....and there is explosions risk....
I forget that according to plebs Bakhmut too was NATO fortress.....

No, because then wasn't confirmed intent to accept Ukraine nor in EU nor in NATO.
U.S can't alone accept in NATO country, all NATO member countries should agree! The same with EU....
Orban yet didn't had signed about Sweden and this is 21 month in row....and Sweden is 1 st world country with good credit history and long term stability plus established MIC during decades in row and economy more impactful and wealth level not comparable with Hungary and Ukr together taken + without border disputes ....
BTW in Europe Majority of countries were hestitant even to provide paper carrot: candidate status for EU..

Also usual flowchart for NATO candidate is to do roadmap...and Ukr didn't had been oficially provided with this ...
Roadmap usually takes 2-6 years...
Finland and Sweden had met roadmap criteria 10 years ago...even without asked to do this. therefore for them situation was different.

Ukraine ofc is allowed to talk, while we already have to dance between Turkey and Cyprus/ Greece like aunts to prevent war....this reality...next shit we don't want...

While for Ukr ofc NATO might be cool: we will install troops in borders with dumbass and Transistria and Crimea and dance like aunts for peacekeeping mission.
The same btw about EU if Ukr will be accepted, while there they most likely will pull more money and unlike with U.S where support mainly remains in U.S cos asssistance mainly is for U.S manufactured weapons, mighty EU loves to sign nice paychecks and transfer money....etc..

One big question: it is rumoured that Ukraine didn't had produced " gunpowder " since 1991 th.
IF this is reality then how they might blame europe etc about bad supplies? This is easy to produce for cheap and they had so much industrial buildings abadoned after fall of USSR, a lot of cheap and still skilled workforce awailable and it isn't rocket science...

Next stuff is that they didn't had produced 7,62x39 and 7,62x54 mm ammunition since 2014 th and didn't bothered to start somewhere production line. While separatists produced 24/7/365....
Therefore russia still does have mountains with such cartridges starting from stuff produced in 1950 ies till fresh production but Ukraine is running around and begging to Donate them these cartridges for USSR era weapons...( weapons using these cartridges they does have a lot )....

Also might had produced a lot of Anti tank mines cos cheap and workforce awailable for cheap & technologies simple....
The same about mortars and " shells " for them...

Actually Avdiivka battle had costed Russia damn a lot and Ukr losses are heavily owerestimated by pro rus Bloggers etc kind of trolls.

Thing that is really awful for Ukraine is very bad: now russia managed to deliver proper and effective close range air support plus to use gliding bombs properly. Also precision of artillery and mortars support fire had been very pro level....
