You probably weren't around when the country was under military rule like in Argentina and Chile. I was there (Rio de Janeiro) as a young child in the late 70s. It was a much better country than it is today. Less crime and less corruption. I returned from 1998 to 2000 to work at the U.S. embassy in Brasilia (USMLO). From 2009 to 2012 to work with Embraer.

Well, at least Bolsonaro knows how to read and write, and also how to speak English. Lula was a criminal in prison re-elected by the people after his release. Who exactly elected the congressman who are now in power? This reminds me of the corruption in Ukraine. Corruption at the city, state, and federal level. The only true law that speaks in Brazil is money (bribery) or a bullet to someone's head - usually in politics.

I have family in Brazil who will agree with everything I have to say about the country. They too are sick and tired of the violence and corruption. Where in Brazil are you at? How is 'Jornal Nacional' covering the conflict in Ukraine?

. How big is the Ukrainian Army currently?
Hard to deny those numbers even if I were pro-Ukraine.
Also, a question for the brighter ones in the thread:
Why didn't Russia invade Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania prior to invading Ukraine? All 3 countries are tiny compared to Ukraine.

As someone who grew up in a former British colony, I'll give my American mates a pass that played rugby with me and 4 or 5 other Commonwealth lads for a decade or longer. They heard it from us for years and learned the ropes. Plus they only use it within the team (or former team now as no one plays regularly anymore) so I don't mind. People like San Marino using it is cringe as fuck considering the background he purports to have. I'm not the arbiter of words and who gets to use them, but I mostly don't want a munter like him using the word mate and by association, making the rest of us look like dumb cunts.
