Igor Strelkov on possible peace talks
Statements by Russian officials that they are ready to talk with legitimate representatives of Ukraine, whom they somehow saw in the Verkhovna Rada and do not see in Zelensky, have left me deeply depressed.
In general, talking about negotiations with Ukraine in a situation where we have not inflicted a tangible defeat on the Ukrainian Armed Forces, when the enemy is still on the territory of the so-called "old" regions of the Russian Federation - this, in any case, is not a strong position. And in other respects... One of my comrades here very clearly noted, I will simply express his words, I fully agree with him: what difference does it make whether a legitimate partner or an illegitimate one will lead you by the nose.
It is absolutely clear that the Rada is filled with no less nationalist and anti-Russian elements than Zelensky's entourage. In principle, the entire current Ukrainian political class is no different from Zelensky. What our officials saw as more legitimate in the representatives of the State Rada of Ukraine, why they are ready to negotiate with them, I personally do not understand at all.
It is clear that Ukraine will drag out time until NATO countries are ready to provide it with direct military assistance on a larger scale and more decisively than they have done so far.
The fact that we are ready to negotiate, and are not ready to fight until victory is our weakness, this is the “Yugoslav option”, which I have spoken about many times
