Correct. Ukraine inherited 2-3 army groups worth of artillery from the Soviets, they started the war with more artillery than the US has in its entire inventory. Folks still don't understand how artillery heavy Soviet armies were and how much of that legacy carries over to the current Russian army. Put it this way. The US has around 1600 total artillery pieces, this includes both towed artillery and self-propelled guns of all calibres. Russia has something like 3000 self-propelled 152mm guns alone. Their total artillery inventory is estimated at somewhere around 16-20k guns, they literally have several times more guns than all of NATO put together.

They also have an army filled with drunks, retards and violent criminals recruited from prisons. The good old days when quantity could make up for a lack of quality are gone.

Russia didn't do too well in Afghanistan either. 210,000 soldiers at the peak of the occupation and you still ended up running crying back to the motherland.

To be fair, no one does well in the Graveyard of Empires. Except Alexander the Great, and his methods were a bit too much even for the Soviets.

The only thing Russian soldiers are good for is gang rape and being used as canon fodder by their betters(everyone else).

Significant gains.. they've been at war for over 2 years buddy and its not close to being over. That is horrible enough for supposedly one of the top militaries in the world. Embarrassing.

Also, Ukraine is talking about hitting military targets in Russia. That is not terroristic. That is war. And Russia wanted the war, so let them have it.

Russia lost more men and materials in the first two weeks of the war than America has lost in 30+ years of war fighting in countries on every continent on earth. Russia can't project power 25km from their own fucking border. They lost their navy to a country that has never had a navy.

Also Russia is launching attacks on Ukraine and is using an imaginary line to shield their artillery and aircraft from retaliation. It actually makes no sense to restrict them. If Russia doesn't want their troops attacked in Russia, don't launch attacks from Russia. They opened the Kharkiv front again, not Ukraine. There's a half dozen Russian brigades just sitting in the open on the other side of the Kharkiv border like it's some protection shield. Fuck that, crater them.

One from most effective tactiques they had used against USSR In afganistan were 3 tactiques :
1. To sit In Cabul ( Kabul ) and do nothing just " Milk " occupants dry by demanding supplies and assistance ....damn effective method btw.
2. To use geographic opportunities in order to attack supplies caravans.
Usually method was to install mines or/ and IEDs where caravan with trucks will go.
Then hide and wait....when caravan get impacted by mine/ IED, then shell first and last trucks etc ....and ...throw fire on trucks etc....with RPGs, mortars and machine guns...
After this ....run away ASAP. Literally ambush type attacks.

3. When some posts installed, to hit them with RPGs and mortars and run away ASAP..
Literally such types of attacks usually were done during short timefrime, sometimes 1 min, sometimes maybe 5 min....after this run away until called support didn't had arriwed.

These from most effective by ROI methods.

Also ofc sniping...Mosin rifles too had been used, also trophy SVD etc stuff.

In 2022 th a lot of analytics had expected that Russia will occupy all Luhansk and Donetsk oblastj territory during 1 - 2 months due to significant Russia's advantage in weaponry and ammunition.
Girkin hoped to liberate all Ukraine very quickly and talked about tanks till la manch in France...

If about old weapons models usage there isn't reason to laugh.
Both sides are using also Maxim machine guns....it is devastating weapon, battle proved in multiple wars during century. If they are in good condition they aren't joke.

Also old era anti aircraft guns used as howitzers for indirect fire support. Ppl are respecting historical facts about German 88 mm air defense guns usage for this purpose during WW2.
While can't accept that the same 100 mm soviet era AA gun used in such mode too is...devastating weapon.

Mig 31 will not be real threat for F-16 or F-15.

It is high attitude long range fast interceptor mainly designed to do recon missions or fight vs strategic bombers, AWACS etc.
While Mig -31 does have very effective long range radar and high speed it also does have high effective radar reflection cross section and isn't suitable for dogfight.

Therefore they will be noticed early and long range missiles launches from Mig 31 too is easily to spot early.....

Big .....very big problem will be SAM batteries like S-300 etc....there is short notice period before launch unlike if Russia will use airplanes
....also they does have a lot missiles for S-300 SAM ....

A lot of scopes also are purchased for donations done by individuals....
Also in some countries optical daylight scopes aren't classed as weapon and might be shipped by casual to ukr. Unlike gun or ammo ofc...

Collective decision in EU to supply weapons or ammo is nor possible thanks to Orban and Slovakia.
Therefore countries are doing decisions on individual basis : this is method how to prevent Orban and Slovakia to stop supplies.
