I work for a water company in the UK. I can tell you that everything you are seeing here is a risk. The pit he is in. His repair method. Even if it repairs well, nobody should be drinking that water for a considerable amount of time. I can barely fathom what the hell it is like out there. I'd live off boiled or bottled water.
