Crazy with all those loses they keep doubling down and push forward whiling gaining a bit of ground. Appears they want Avdiivka at any cost.
like Bakhumut the perceived political gain is more important than the military losses. it's not a great strategy imo

Business insider is a completely unreliable source no one with actual connection with anyone in the Ukrainian defense command an nether does Time.
I don't think you can just dismiss Time Mag as being 'unreliable' when its one of the better sources out there. And the info is quoted right from high officials in Zelensky's govt and within his inner circle of advisors. The recent firings of the minister of defense and regional draft directors and a few other actions were conditions laid out by the US, do this or else no aid. Average age of a Ukrainian soldier is 43yrs. Commanders are refusing orders even from the office of the President, and some orders are nonsensical like the one to advance with no available men and equipment. I seriously doubt Time has made up all the problems listed in the article.

The real stuff for Ukr is that Ukr definitely will lost this war.
.
in my opinion if ukraine is losing then so is russia
ukraine historical mistake was that they gave up on their nuclear program (also sweden)
I mean you are sharing a border with russia

Ukraine war live updates: Kyiv tries to rally troops, urging them to resist burnout as Russian attacks intensify
Holly Ellyatt

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy tried to rally his troops and support for Ukraine Tuesday, saying there will be no easy victories in the counteroffensive to retake Russian-occupied territory.

“The modern world is designed in such a way that it gets used to success too quickly,” he said in his nightly address, adding that “when the full-scale aggression began, many in the world expected that Ukraine would not survive.”

“Now the colossal things that our people, all our warriors are doing, are taken for granted,” he added.

Zelenskyy’s comments came as Russia appeared to intensify its assaults on Ukraine, with one minister saying the country had experienced the most attacks in one day, on Tuesday, since the start of the year.

There are also concerns over the slow progress Ukraine has made in its counteroffensive launched in June, with growing impatience and reluctance, in some Western quarters, to continue giving large amounts of military aid to Ukraine.

Any F-16s given to Ukraine will only last ‘around 20 days,’ Russia claims
Russia’s defense minister claimed Wednesday that any F-16 fighter jets that the West supplies to Ukraine will be only last around 20 days if Russian air defense systems are operating effectively.

In a conference call with military officials, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu claimed that Russian air defense systems had shot down 37 aircraft in the past month and that this was almost twice the number of F-16 aircraft that was expected to be given to Ukraine by its Western allies.

“That is, with such work, our air defense systems [would have] approximately 20 days of work,” he said in comments posted on the Telegram account of Russia’s Ministry of Defense. CNBC was unable to verify Shoigu’s claims.

Several of Ukraine’s allies in Europe, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark and Norway, have promised to supply kyiv with F-16 jets although the timeframe for training and supply, as well as the number of aircraft that will be donated, differs between the nations and is not yet fully confirmed.

Denmark is expected to supply Kyiv with 19 jets but the deliveries will be made in tranches with the first six to be delivered in March or April 2024.

Coke as in coccaine or Coca Cola?

Coke as in coccaine or Coca Cola?

Coke as in what is used to make Steel.

Coking plant
To make steel in a blast furnace, coal must first be turned into coke. Coke has a dual role in the steelmaking process. First, it provides the heat needed to melt the ore, and second, when it is burnt, it has the effect of ‘stealing’ the oxygen from the iron ore, leaving only the pure iron behind. In the coking plant, coal is heated in the absence of oxygen to 1250c. This removes any impurities in the coal, resulting in coke, which is a porous substance that is nearly all carbon.

Thanks, for the info.

Something worth fighting for. If it comes down to fighting for coke coccaine though, the gloves will really come off!

Not only this one.

Next reality is that they actually had slow and silent deMilitarization. During 30 years.

They had more than 4000 main battle tanks in 1992 th.
Doesn't matter were they old models or no, anyway could be refubrished and a bit modernised....
In 2022 th Ukraine had lesser than 900 main battle tanks.
So despite yelling from Russian propaganda about militarisation actually Ukraine without any doubts had deMilitarization process 30 years in row.

Yeah, some nice talks and some more new tanks upgrades had been done, while looks that more for PR purposes and in small numbers while PR was loud and all looked impressive.

More than this, in 1999 the Ukraine had sold Russia 575 long range cruise missiles.
Russia now is using them to strike Ukraine...

A lot of very bad mistakes Ukraine had did in order to de Militarize...

such a shame, ukraine is full of natural resources, which is the real reason they are attacked
ukraine also got brilliant brains, really everything to develop their own industries
probably lacking an astrategic thinking, countries with many resources tend to never worry about the future
I wonder if israel is ever going to hand out the iron beam which is a game changer (no cost to use it, just electricity)
maybe bibi think that he will need russia in the future so he try not to get them angry, even now when they are on the hammas side

Then here is about air defense.
Ukraine in some cases had behaved worse than some poor African and asian countries.

In 1992 the they had more than 600 S-125 launchers and at least 100 Kub launchers.

Ofc these are old systems and still might be refubrished and a bit upgraded.

Ukraine opted to put them in basements to accumulate spiders nets and rust ....

And now are begging bad Poland and Chezch Republic to gave them at least some more launchers and missiles for S-125 and Kub.
I ofc agree that these even if refubrished and upgraded are ancient systems and still ....if installed in some Kiev or Lvov oblastj might be usable against Iranian drones etc like stuff....

Ukraine together with Belarus even had developed mobile SAM system Stylet.
It is something like between OSA and Pantsirj....
Range 20 km, ceiling 10 km. Mobile launcher like OSA does have.
Trials were successful.
They might had produced and accumulated some 10 years in row such stuff.

If Ukraine was key producer for large cargo aircraft and very large missiles engines for space industry then ....to produce some simple SAM complexes and even tactical missiles for them technically was peace of cake.
If country had produced engines for space missions and intercontinental ballistic missiles and largest transport airplanes in world......

I think that bibi fears from reality that anyway will happen sooner or later: Russia might assist Iran to develop thermonuclear weapons.
It will happen anyway.

Ofc not likely Russia will gave them warheads, while blueprints and enriched uranium & plutonium Putin definitely might offer to Iran in exchange for components used in ammunition production and drones and blueprints how to produce cheap long range drones.

Russia is capable to produce drones, while looks that Iranian drones are in their scope because they are really cheap.
Putin most likely wants that Russia will learn how to produce a lot of CHEAP drones.

More= better.

Russia looks that had prepared for Avdiivka operation long years in row.
They looks that had managed to apply pincers properly and with little losses.....
Established fire control on supply corridor area and there job in general already should be assumed as done.

While due to propaganda reasons they looks that opted to take Avdiivka ASAP and therefore had sent troops to make pincers more tight, to grab Terricon ( this is mountain from mining industry waste ....dunno how stabile it is ) and now looks that had sent troops to fight for Coke Factory.
It is very large size industrial buildings area and these buildings are built with reinforced concrete panels and massive bricks layers....with basements etc....

Will see.
