Strelkov playing with fire, knowing very well they might kill him in prison, he even says that will run for president.

Taken and translated from his Telegram:

ON NOMINATION AS A CANDIDATE FOR THE PRESIDENT OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

My advantages in comparison with the current president in the conditions of NWO:
1. The President refuses to lead military operations, considers himself incompetent in military affairs. I consider myself more competent in military affairs than the incumbent president, and definitely more than the incumbent defense minister, so I could fulfill the duty of the supreme commander in chief as required by the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
2. Our president is an extremely gullible person; for 8 years he was led by the nose together and separately by Obama, Trump, Macron, Merkel, Poroshenko and Zelensky. They drove in Minsk and in the Normandy format, in Istanbul and many other places. For my part, I can say: since 2014, I have never called those people who led the incumbent president by the nose as dear and respected partners, on the contrary, I never believed them for a penny.
3. The current president is too kind. When the SVO began a year and a half ago, he was able to quickly make sure that he was led by the nose not only by respected Western and Kyiv partners, but also by the leaders of our law enforcement agencies, intelligence and the military-industrial complex. It turned out that neither the country, nor the army, nor the industry of Russia are ready for war, and the so-called Ukraine is not at all a straw man in military terms. Nevertheless, all the heads of these structures (as well as others, for example, the Central Bank) remained in their places and continue to amaze us with their incompetence.
I'm not at all so kind, which I can prove in practice.
4. Our president has a lot of friends of billionaires and other businessmen, whom he cannot (according to the above kindness and breadth of soul) refuse anything. As a result, the export of capital from the Russian Federation continues, military production is growing much more slowly than the capital of the president's friends is growing. I don’t have a single friend, even a millionaire, it’s tight with business friends, in general there are few friends and basically, all of them are not rich people. Accordingly, I will not have to give in to the wishes of my friends to the detriment of the Russian economy.
5. Vladimir Vladimirovich is a highly moral person, always true to his word and firmly fulfilling the promises given to those who brought him to power in the late nineties. I have promised nothing to anyone and can therefore ignore all the personal guarantees of all the presidents of the Russian Federation from 1991 to the present, if I consider that this is useful for the people and the state.
6. I’m not as athletic and healthy as Vladimir Vladimirovich was at my age, so I won’t be able to bother you, dear voters, purely physically for more than 20 years, even if I suddenly have a desire to mess with you after the military crisis and its most severe consequences.

I.I. Strelkov. 08/30/2023.

US problem with DU was because they still flew that fucking ancient aircraft that shoots thousands of those rounds in a big area and is used to target infantry and other light armored vehicles.

DU for anti-tank isn't widely used.

horrible look for us

Last post from Khodakovsky's telegram regarding Ukr's counter offensive in the south east:

Judging by the intensity and duration of artillery treatment, the enemy has plans for a triangle: Novomayorskoye - Novodonetskoye - Oktyabrskoye (Kermenchik). This is not news to us - a little earlier we came to the conclusion that the enemy can change priorities and leave the direction of Urozhaynoy alone for a while. When the enemy took Harvest, I came across polite reproaches on the net from a certain category of military chroniclers that "a certain media figure has already surrendered Urozhaine, but meanwhile ours are still holding the village there." Then I thought: guys, when it becomes impossible to hide this information, how will you present the situation?

Now the threat looms over Novodonetsky again - this settlement is likely to be the first to be hit. Both on Urozhaine and on this triangle, the enemy’s advantage in range has played and is playing an almost decisive role. At the same time, its "air" suppression system curtails our reconnaissance capabilities, preventing us from fully using our long-range UAV assets to search for artillery positions. But even if we manage to eventually find them, reaching them becomes a big problem.

Imagine the infantry, which is processed for several days without a "response" from our side - what state does it come to? Then the enemy will launch an offensive, and he will be met not by a fresh and vigorous soldier, but by a person who has experienced extreme physical and psychological stress. The result is forged in advance - it is at the preparation stage that the future victory is laid. If we can’t organize an adequate system of measures against the enemy for several days, and shells and drops from copters fly unanswered on the soldier’s head, you shouldn’t expect miracles from him

Very true. A10 had some of the worst collateral damage stats from gulf war.

This is election interference!

I think @Anewt had posted some data about high incidence of birth defects in areas where use of DU shells were rampant in Iraq, in a previous megathread.

I believe @Rod1 was quite correct, well it's as valid a explanation for Falluja rates of birth defects and other issues that have arisen for those unfortunate people, that I've seen.

US problem with DU was because they still flew that fucking ancient aircraft that shoots thousands of those rounds in a big area and is used to target infantry and other light armored vehicles.

DU for anti-tank isn't widely used.

That a10 firing 4200 du rounds a minute would leave a insane amount of microscopic fragments of depleted uranium. Microscopic fragments is what seems to be the biggest cause rather than the larger anti tank rounds used in tank warfare.

Although microscopic fragments without a doubt would be created even in the tank warfare, seems likely the majority of blame goes to the a10 in Falluja.

It's also a topic that there is vested interest in not linking the two . ( du and birth defects)

I personally think rod1 is correct Falluja has insane levels due to the mass firing of rounds. But I think it all plays at a part. ( tank on tank ) To what extent is the billion dollar question.

Can't blame Ukraine for using them as Russia does and they need everything they can possibly use to create parity.

I hope the future Ukrainian generations aren't going to wear any repercussions from a few of the current decisions being made tho

However, using data published in the report [3] it appeared that the cancer and leukemia death rates in the entire all-Iraq 0-4 group were about three or four times the levels found in western populations for this age group (Table (Table1).1). These rates were three times higher in the South where Depleted Uranium (DU) was employed in the major tank battles near the Kuwait border (53 per 100,000 per year) than in the North (18 per 100,000 per year) where there was less fighting and where DU was not employed to such an extent [4]. Furthermore, cancer and leukemia rates were highest in the 0-1 year group, which is unusual; the main peak in childhood cancer is generally found at age 4.

Years ago Democracy Now reported on DU munitions having been associated with increased rates of cancer and birth defects in offspring of parents exposed to the material. Does anyone know if the science behind those findings changed? Are DU munitions considered safe now?

The Fallujah hospital? You didn't link your report.... but if so.

The "science"/"reporting" in that instance was junk to begin with. Pet peeve of mine is junk science/bad journalistic interpretation of science and that shit is a pretty good example of both being junk.

You didn't link but IIRC some garbage coming out from a hospital in Fallujah IIRC saying DU was causing defects that caught traction. I'm going to assume that's what you're referring to.

The issue is how DU is absorbed into the human body. If you want to read good science about DU usage and health effects read this.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1242351/

But you probably won't so I'll sum it up and copypasta the most important point:
DU as an aerosol (when it explodes) is some nasty shit. Not really surprising that inhaling uranium, even depleted Uranium is going to have some pretty bad health effects.

The gas can travel 26 miles and then generally settles on the ground which also causes issues...

But the majority of DU exposure occurs through inhalation:
Inhalation of aerosols, ingestion and exposure through contaminated wounds or embedded fragments are all pathways of internal exposure but inhalation is the main route of human exposure both in combat and non-combat situations.

Starting to see the issue with pointing at DU as the cause of defects/cancer in Fallujah?

DU as an aerosol was probably around 1/100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000th of the birth defect causing, cancer causing gases Iraqi's inhaled as a result of the war.

I'm being generous. There's probably 10,000's more 0's in that number I just thought it would look obnoxious and exponent powers just don't have the same visual effect.

The Fallujah hospital?
That could have been the news story in question. I feel as though it was years ago, certainly pre-2016.

Thanks for the link. I will give the study a gander.

But you probably won't

Hahahahahaha.

I've been posting in the WR for decades. It's not had a great effect on my opinion of people...

dont have shit to do with me
No you’ve made it clear already what this about to you. You’re just another tool that’s caught up in the partisan politics bullshit. If the parties were reversed on this issue, there is zero doubt in my mind you would all about sending everything we have to them.

The Russian counter-attack is sure taking its time because so far Russians have been on the backfoot for all summer.
. Ukraine counter-offensive against Russia yields only small gains in first 2 months - BBC News
Ukraine is not doing as well as people think. They have fallen short of their own expectations. Ultimately, time is not on Ukraine's side. By autumn, the rainy season will have arrived, turning unpaved roads into mud and making further advances difficult, if not impossible. By the time that ends, in the spring, the US presidential election cycle will be under way. If Ukraine cannot show any decisive gains on the battlefield by then, it is far from certain that US and NATO support will continue at their current high levels. Meanwhile Russia simply has to hang on to the territory it has illegally seized.

1. Trump and Putin had a great relationship, and this war wouldn't have happened if trump was president. (maybe partially correct but for all the wrong reasons).
2. Biden played a major role in starting this war.
3. Only way for Ukraine to proceed is with suicidal air drops behind enemy lines.
4. Something about the kind of ground they are fighting on?
5. Russians will use biological weapons, Sarin Nerve gas.
6. The search history is a treasure trove of shit-takes lmao.
1. True. Not 'had,' but 'have.' Trump still has a good relationship with Putin and could put an end to this war if elected. Unlike Biden.
2. True. Not a major role but a significant one. He did nothing. Doing nothing is what he is good at.
3. Possibly. As suicidal as doing a frontal assault on fortified Russian positions. It did not work in WWI and is not really working now. Another failed to learn history lesson.
4. What about the ground? You don't even know it. Be more specific.
5. No. I never said that. Show me the post. Must have been someone else, but you can't keep track of who said what.
6. What search history? Is yours working, because mine is not.

wtf, here we go again.

Exclusive: US to send controversial depleted-uranium munitions to Ukraine
We are not 'going again.' That issue has always been on the table. There is nothing controversial about depleted Uranium rounds.
I have them. It is U-238. Not U-235 (gamma radiation). The only radiation problem that may come from it is if you inhale it or digest any of the dust.

Are DU munitions considered safe now? No, and a new low for America. What's next white phosphorus.
Yes, DU munitions are safe. About as safe as lead munitions. What is wrong with WP? ...or do you just hate any type of ammunition used by the Americans? They are intended to kill people, not to cure them from some illness.
