What I posted about months ago that Saudi Arabia would be sending Nvidia AI GPU to China an potentially Russia. US finally blocking sales to the Middle East as they get in bed with Russia an China.

Yea bit of goverment overreach imo plus theres issue with immigration laws

Like one guy at job has already gotten residence visa, hes not really refugee anymore by status so what to do with him if he gets called

As a point of principle I can understand the Ukrainian wanting every able bodied man to at least be available for service but if they've got to be dragged back sullen and resentful thats not a lot of use to them .

Ukraine has plenty of able bodied wealthy men and men in government if they need extra manpower.

There's a lot of very rich ppl, dunno does their sons even serve mando conscription in peacetime.

While Zelensky at least is doing something.

They does have bunch with bireucrats catched in corruption AND these IMHO really should be mobilised .

You'd think it would do something for morale and willingness to fight if the male family members of Zelensky and his wife were known to be fighting on the frontlines.

Zelensky himself has visited the front several times.

People who are resentful of being drafted would probably not find much solace on having Zelensky's relative doing the same.

Ukraine increased border control and custom control most likely cos countries like Poland and Slovakia might really cut off any aid if Ukr will not to do this.
They fear not only from even more refugees and potential diversants and terrorists.
The price of handguns in illegal underground market in europe is higher than in Ukr or Russia and this ofc might be very lucrative for smugglers.
Btw criminals will not pay for large size weapons. Handguns, assault rifles, grenades etc yeah...

You dream to see some leader like The Emperor Bonapart. Who really was artillery officer.

In modern days poor and average ppl are fighting rich ppl wars and this is also about Russia.
Even in peacetime impactful ppl sons and relatives didn't had served mandatory military service ...
Exception were these who choosed military officer's career and to pursue education like uni level....
Cos you at least on paper mandatory need military education to climb enough high.

So then so called " rich kids " get in unis, colleges, then also Master's progams are available, including academic vacations for health reasons.
Etc options.
Or commision can't find them suitable to be conscripted.
Even if conscripted in comfortable places not frontline...
Such stuff even in USSR era.

While in USSR era was common that if you have trade school under belt they attempted to use you in stuff you are experienced. Trade schools does have mandatory practicums....
So mechanics, electricicians, welders etc were used also in military...as conscripts. If they had tasks where speciality is needed.

Ukr most likely had get some terminals using Intelsat and while they are slower they are more resistant to radiolectronic warfare and detection.
Sweden agreed to supply batch with such terminals and Musk can't impact their work.

I've seen social media postings of the sons of the wealthy and well connected touring around Europe. Aint nobody who is well connected in Russia letting their kids die in this thing either.

A leader of a country at war visiting within artillery/airstrike range is definitively putting himself at risk and morale boosting.

Maybe if Putin, Gerasimov and Shoigu weren't as cowardly, they would be able to asses the situation better rather than rely on the Russian upwards misinformation tradition reports, that way they wouldn't be claiming they destroyed 600+ HIMARS so far.

Although considering how poor Russian OPSEC is, they kind of have a point to not get anywhere near the frontline.

War is generally nothing more than the rich elites of one country sending their underclasses to butcher the poor of another country. It's incredibly nonsensical and about as evil and unethical as it gets. I support both the Russians and Ukrainians who have gotten themselves out of this mess. Let Putin and Zelensky fight to the death over it.

Ukraine is doing one from in reality fatal mistakes they might do.
They are talking about $ they will need for reconstruction after war while in reality should talk today just about stuff they need today.
A lot of ppl who will vote in elections are shocked about sums they are excepting to get for reconstruction from their tax money.

Politicians at first are thinking about next elections....
And maybe realpolitik is ....low support might ensure that Ukraine will not get all territories back and therefore... lesser money will be used for reconstruction.

Not alone about endless warrant letters for loans, also direct loans and even grants they are asking each month... now are talking also about reconstruction.
