how many lives were lost for the battle of bakhmut?

once they are able to recapture that territory, I'll consider that as progress in the right direction.

There isnt any indication they're on track for that just yet but fingers crossed.

Obiviously russia had considerably more losses than Ukr and these weren't just some untrained prisoners or mobiks.

While now ofc stuff by logic is different if Ukr will order to take Bakhmut for any price.

Soledar btw will be more awful than for Russia was Azovstal....
Ukr IMHO IF will manage encircle Soledar, should starve them out not directly attack city... otherwise ukr will need to purchase mobile crematoriums...

at the end of the day, men and women were sent to die for what is now being described as nothing valuable.

russia is built for the long game. if you want progress you need nato to commit troops. putting this solely on the UA is kind of messed up, even if they get the top of the line equipment.

the west let ukraine down and now it's using their people as cannon fodder.

That's not what I saw on YouTube. Everyone is saying that the counter offensive is making small but meaningful progress every hour of everyday and that the Russians have been put on a continuous backfoot. And where is your evidence that Ukraine can't win anyway? Every fighting aged Ukrainian male will sacrifice their life to defeat Putin. They will prevail no matter what the cost. Slava Ukraini!

True but once again shooting a plane out of sky is a bit more dramatic than "falling out of window" Assasinations are ordinary thing in that country.

No one in russia is suprised prig might have gotten killed, its the way it was done.

When he was making those a videos in Bakhmut screaming at Russian MOD I assumed he would be finished off then the march towards Moscow guaranteed his demise. Surprise it took so long , I’m thinking Putin might have worried about the Wagner group turning on Russia again should anything. Have happened to him… so this might not be the end of this debacle yet.
 
Supposedly stated on Russian TV just now that he is confirmed dead.

Wonder if they’re gonna round up all the Wagnerites or if they’ll start going after the government. This could get interesting.
