Well, likes Biden or no but to relocate microchips production from China to U.S was good idea...
More jobs etc.

What are you complaining about exactly? That he is extending basic politeness to Xi right before their diplomatic meeting? I mean what do you want him to do, run up and yeet him in the dick?

I think he's trying to suggest that the US sending our #3 to meet with their #1 is somehow a sign of weakness. I guess @cottagecheesefan only has respect for tough leaders like Trump who speak to Xi like:

“China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus. The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!”

Russia/Ukraine Conflict
Campaign Assessment, 19 June 2023
Key Takeaways:
  • Ukrainian forces conducted counteroffensive operations in at least three sectors of the frontline and made gains on June 19.
  • Russian forces conducted drone and missile strikes targeting southern Ukraine on June 19.
  • US Secretary of State Antony Blinken reported that the Chinese government reiterated that it is not providing, and will not provide, lethal assistance to Russia for use in Ukraine. (Blinken fell for that? How exactly would that be tracked?)
  • US defense manufacturer Lockheed Martin indicated that it is ready to help Ukraine fly and maintain Lockheed’s F-16 fighter jets if NATO states agree to send them to Ukraine. (Civilian contractors to maintain the F-16? Would that responsibility not fall under the military?)
  • Russian forces made gains in the Kupyansk area and continued ground attacks along the Svatove-Kreminna line.
  • Ukrainian forces continued counteroffensive operations while Russian forces conducted limited ground attacks near Bakhmut.
  • Russian and Ukrainian forces conducted limited attacks on the Avdiivka-Donetsk City line and made marginal gains.
  • Ukrainian forces conducted limited ground attacks along the administrative border between western Donetsk and eastern Zaporizhia oblasts.
  • Ukrainian forces conducted limited ground attacks in western Zaporizhia Oblast.

They are grasping at straws, considering Trump's visited mainland China.

Ukraine says ‘biggest blow’ yet to come in counteroffensive push
Ukraine’s Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Maliar said Kyiv’s forces and Moscow’s troops are engaged in a ‘tough duel’ and Russia is throwing everything into the battle.

Ukraine’s Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Maliar said the “biggest blow” in Kyiv’s counteroffensive campaign against Russian forces has yet to come but admitted the operation is difficult as Moscow is throwing all it can into the battle to prevent Ukraine from pressing forward.

Ukraine began the first stage of its long-rumoured counteroffensive two weeks ago to reclaim land occupied by Russian forces. But amid reports of slow progress by Ukraine’s forces and stiff resistance by Russia, officials in Moscow have claimed the Ukrainian offensive has failed.

The Ukrainian military, which has maintained a strict silence about the campaign in general, announced on Monday that small victories had been achieved and eight villages liberated so far, along with some 113 square km (70 sq miles) of territory.

Why can't just US provide Ukr with all intel they have; satelite images/coords of their military units and so on. It looks really silly now portraying ruskis now as clumsy oafs and 2 minutes later that Ukr made no progress.

They have the issue of trenches and the mines. Ukraine also has a lack of helicopters making it difficult to defend positions but still made 70 square miles of forward progress. Wagner group Prigozhin been caught in a lie about Wagner forces leaving the area as Ukrainians are combating an removing Wagner mercs from the battlefield.

The 500 US provided MRAP's have been significant in keeping Ukrainian forces alive as previous BMP's have been made less effective vs Russian drone attacks. This is a 600 mile front not sq miles but by 600 mile front that was made more difficult as Russia made use of a lack of a winter offensive to build up trenches and solidify positions down in the Southern part of Ukraine and have move munitions passed the range of HIMARS forcing Ukraine to use more storm shadow cruise missiles and other limited supply rockets.

They are, its likely biggest reason why original invasion failed last year. Ukr knew rus troop movements exactly

To quote certain ukr war blogger

"americans knew russias plan of attack better than ukraines plan of defence"

It isn’t just Russian sources saying lots of casualties. British military intel and western media also reporting this. CBS, AP, WSJ, take your pick.
. Both sides suffer heavy casualties as Ukraine strikes back against Russia, UK assessment says | AP News
Even the main Ukraine news source is like “well at least Russia is not advancing!”. This has been a complete disaster and they have literally been hyping this for like 6-8 months. Was supposed to be a winter offensive, then spring, now summer and it failing.

Ukraine has to show progress or western help is likely to slowly dry up. Western countries, the US in particular, want to know that the billions spent on Ukraine so far has been for something.

.Ukraine's at Risk of a Devastating Setback (msn.com)
"Should the counteroffensive be unsuccessful, the U.S. and Europeans would continue to provide arms, but might be more open to peace initiatives that would freeze in place the two lines," Reardon said.

George Mason University Schar School of Policy and Government professor Mark N. Katz told Newsweek that a failed counteroffensive would likely result in some voices in the West wanting to pull back support to Ukraine.

"They will argue that it is time for Ukraine to adjust to painful reality and agree to a ceasefire with Russia that leaves Moscow in possession of much or even all the territory that it now occupies," Katz said. "Putin is hoping for this to occur."

"By contrast, a successful Ukrainian offensive now—however that is defined—will not only make it easier for Ukraine's congressional supporters [in the United States] to keep on providing military assistance to Ukraine, but also more difficult for its opponents to make a convincing case about why this should not continue," Katz said.

As for the consequences on the battlefield, David Silbey—an associate professor of history at Cornell and director of teaching and learning at Cornell in Washington—told Newsweek that a failed counteroffensive "would most likely reestablish the status quo stalemate."

"Both the U.S. and Ukraine have been talking up the counteroffensive for months now, with tidbits about combined arms training and new weapons," he said. "If the offensive failed, it would be a blow to the political prestige of both countries."

You still regurgitating that MSN article as if it's a government statement? All the Western governments have said in public they are going to see this through till the end.

Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer.

Russian massive 100 million dollar yacht was sold to former Google CEO at a budget price of 67 million. He is also losing the staff an the 100,000 a month price he paid for parking an maintaining it lol. 63 million dollar sale an pervious owner tried buying it back an was turned down.

Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt was announced as the winning bidder in a recent auction of the Alfa Nero superyacht that was abandoned in Antigua in March 2022. According to a statement made by the Antigua and Barbuda Port Authority, the 81.3-meter Oceanco-built superyacht was sold for $67.6 million at the auction that was held on 16 June. A minimum sale price of $60 million was set for the superyacht, which has been valued at $115 million by the government of Antigua and Barbuda; however, only two of the three bids exceeded the reserve price. A last-minute attempt was also made by the vessel’s previous owners to stop the sale but the emergency injunction application was rejected by the court, clearing the way for the vessel’s auction.

We do. That intel and is great but it’s never perfect. Also, the Russians are really dug in well and heavily fortified so even though we know where they are and one defenses they built, it’s still going to be an enormous task dislodging them.

Also who said that Ukrainians aren’t gaining ground

Free speech champions Russia with Putler in charge. Anything pro Ukrainian will get you fined I say US should do the same to Russia on Youtube, Reddit, Facebook, Twitter and Sherdog lol. Sherdog is just a joke don't get your panties in a bunch.

A Moscow court fined the companies that own the popular messaging apps Telegram and Viber, citing their failure to remove certain content Russia deems to be “illegal”, in particular content on the war in Ukraine.

Telegram, whose operational center is in Dubai, was ordered to pay a 4 million ruble fine ($47,525), while Viber’s owner, the Japanese multinational company Rakuten, was fined $1 million rubles, according to Russian news agency Interfax.

Telegram is very widely used in both Russia and Ukraine by political leaders, the military, journalists, activists and ordinary citizens. It was founded by Russian-born brothers in 2013.

The fine for Telegram, Russian state media agency TASS reported, was for not deleting 32 channels publishing what Moscow described as “false information” about the war in Ukraine, which it calls its “special military operation.”

Shortly after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine began, the Kremlin announced a law that banned any “discrediting” of Russia’s armed forces, with penalties of up to 15 years’ imprisonment. Numerous critics of the war have been arrested
