"
A Russian fighter jet's attempt to shoot down a British surveillance plane in international airspace only failed because the missile malfunctioned, according to The New York Times.

Both leaked US intelligence documents and an account given to the NYT by anonymous defense officials paint a startling picture of the September 29 incident, which appears far more serious than initially reported.

A recently-circulated trove of leaked US intelligence documents called the incident – which took place over the Black Sea off the coast of Russian-occupied Crimea – a "near-shoot down of UK RJ," The Washington Post reported.

The abbreviation refers to the RC-135 Rivet Joint, a reconnaissance aircraft used by the UK's Royal Air Force.

Two unnamed US defense officials described the incident to the NYT as "really, really scary."

In their telling, the Russian fighter jet pilot misheard the radar operator on the ground as conveying permission to fire, locked on to the British aircraft, and only failed because the missile didn't launch properly. "

All of Russia needs to be on their collective knees, thanking the Good Lord that missile was faulty.
Oddly enough, beeing a 3rd world military led to the incident, and prevented it at the same time

Honestly I have some mixed feelings on this. We are feeding their enemy intel with these surveillance planes, leading to their troops getting killed. I think it’s perfectly reasonable for them to want to shoot them down

True, but Russia isn't at war with NATO, the E.U. or Britain. It's not like Russia has sovereignty of Ukrainian airspace or that of any allied nation. It's like Russia shooting at an U.S. AWACS over Poland because it's feeding info on Russian troop movements in Ukraine.

You're complaining about wartime emergency measures Ukraine had to take because of the actions of Russia. You're not very good at cause and effect, are you?

We've tried to explain it to you many times, but I guess your personality is just far too subservient for you to understand why Ukraine is fighting. Most people don't want to live under an incompetent dictator like Putin.

banning opposition is banning opposition no matter how you try to justify it, which means his poll numbers are irrelevant.

also i get you, like other cheerleaders here, are just good at parroting talking points you here on western media without thinking but all the fighting could've been avoided if zelensky was working for his countrys best interests and not those of nato.

Sure its perfectly reasonable for them to want them to shoot down, its also perfectly reasonable for them not to go into a conventional war against NATO.

If they shoot down NATO planes, NATO will put a no-fly zone.

Well I have less sympathy for foreign invaders. Still, we've all condemned the beheading of pows. You don't have the courage to do even that, lest you have to admit your boys are war criminals.

all war crimes should be condemned on both sides, not act like a cheerleader like you and only focus on one side.

Yeah, we've all heard that one from you. You dismissed an article from the NY Times about Wagner getting waxed by US forces in Syria on the grounds that it "was like Rambo." And with the next breadth, you posted literal russian state media outlets.

You wouldn't get through English 101 in any western university with citations that shitty.

ny times completely lost all credibility as a news paper. they're like a tabloid paper now.

they themselves dont know what actually happened and how many and who was involved in that alleged clash in syria. its mostly just speculation.

on the other hand the article in rt was written by pulitzer winner known for exposing government coverups.

I feel like escorts are gonna be flying with AWAC and Surveillance aircraft. I think there are F-35s in the regions if not that an ass load of F-16s

I don't have an issue with decapitations if it is done cleanly. No different than a bullet to the head.
Like the Japanese samurai beheading prisoners or the guillotine during the French revolution. These are fast, clean, kills.
Same for the sledgehammer killing. That is how some cattle was killed for meat here in the US not too long ago.
Not sure what the hype is all about.
We Americans burned and killed thousands of Japanese men, women and children during the devastating firebombing raid on Tokyo in 1945.

Remember "Jihadi John" (ISIS) who beheaded an American with a knife? That is a slow and painful way to go.
Some here may not remember the American prisoner killed in Iraq with acid - a slow painful death.
Dying from a napalm strike or any type of slow burn death would be a much worse fate.

I'm not so sure Ukrainian soldiers are not doing some of their own crazy style of executions. It just does not get the publicity the Russians do.
We don't even know the exact numbers of Ukrainians killed in this conflict. Why is that a secret?
We do have video footage of Ukrainian civilians tying men and women naked to street poles for steeling food.
In that sense, Russians and Ukrainians are cut from the same cloth, but only Russian atrocities get the publicity.
Also, who is to say that Russians committed particular atrocities when in fact it was Ukrainian soldiers doing it to their own people and claiming it as Russian? The propaganda machine at work.
Quite possibly your worst, most deranged post yet.... and that's really saying something.

I seen a few beheadings videos where the victim was still moving it’s eyes after their head remove from their body..

Its kind of weird how we measure how horrible a death is based on how it looks for people alive rather than people who are dying.

I saw the video and i don't think it was that bad as others i have simply because they slit his throat real fast, once they cut the carotids its only a couple seconds before losing consciousness, but the death itself is gross as fuck, because they continue breathing and twitching as those are controlled by the brain stem.

On the other hand if they go from the nape they will cut your spine and stop all movement, but its likely your brain will still function until they cut blood flow which will be at the end of the cut, also these are messier as its much harder to go from the back to the neck as there are more muscle and bones there, yet it seems more peaceful ironically.

Anyway, Russians are dumb as fuck if they believe these kind of videos will break Ukrainians will to fight, on the other hand they will probably fight to the death now.

Well: https://www.cbsnews.com/boston/news...cused-secret-pentagon-documents-leak-dighton/
DIGHTON - Jack Teixeira, a member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard, has been identified as the suspect who allegedly leaked classified U.S. intelligence documents online, according to CBS News. He was taken into custody by federal agents Thursday afternoon, sources told the WBZ-TV I-Team.

Teixeira is an Airman 1st Class in the Guard's 102nd Intelligence Wing, according to the organization's Facebook page.

Heavily armed law enforcement could be seen at a Dighton address associated with Teixeira Thursday afternoon. A person who came out of the home put their hands behind their head, backed up slowly, and was taken into custody outside the home.

He was first identified Thursday by the New York Times as the "leader of a small online gaming chat group" named "Thug Shaker Central," that's allegedly responsible for leaking the documents.

According to Associated Press sources, the FBI wants to question him in the leak of the highly classified military documents on the war in Ukraine.

The Biden administration has been working to assess the diplomatic and national security consequences of the leaked documents since they first surfaced online last week. A top Pentagon spokesman told reporters earlier this week that the disclosures present a "very serious risk to national security," and the Justice Department opened an investigation to identify the person responsible.

The documents reviewed by CBS News contained details about the war in Ukraine, including an analysis of Ukraine's air defenses, as well as information about South Korea. Officials said some of the documents appeared to be doctored, but acknowledged some of the slides appeared to contain secret information.

The Times reported that Teixeira, 21, "oversaw a private online group named Thug Shaker Central, where about 20 to 30 people, mostly young men and teenagers, came together over a shared love of guns, racist online memes and video games."

There has been no official comment yet from the White House, the FBI, or Teixeira.

"We would refer you to the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for details," the Massachusetts Air National Guard said in a statement to WBZ-TV.

What's the penalty for espionage/sabotage these days?

I sat in on a court-martial once and trust me, it's no place you want to be, and I was just in the audience observing. This guy just POWER*UCKED his entire life to be a "big man" on a game chat server.

He should hope to go to a federal prison vs. a military one. He'll definitely have more freedom in the federal pen. Either way, he's boned. Now it's only a question of how deep the bone goes inside.

Couple that with the fact that he allegedly spewed some racist garbage then started firing rounds at a gun range while filming himself doing so.

His character is burnt.

What you post on social media can and will be held against you in a court of law.

Unless he got the said classified docs via hacking, I can't see why a dipshit grade airman in the national guard would have access to "Highly Classified docs on the war in Ukraine"

And why is CBS news allowed to "review" the classified material as well?
Don't think they were "allowed" as much as they were able to, since some of the material has apparently been online since januari, and is pretty much publicly available at this point...

It sounds like a cover for the real dipsh$t who did it and this guy is the fall guy possibly? If somehow he was able to get his hands on it someone F'd up big time because he does not look like he's some mastermind.

Chechen and Crimean's are fighting the Russians because they love that they took over their countries or areas. Russia Chud's here are so wrong it's not funny.

Muslims in Crimea are tortured by Russian Soldiers so no doubt that is why Saudi Leader is such as fan of Putin.

Yes most likely someone else fucked up and this guy got ahold of documents he shouldn't have been able to.

That points to bigger problems with data handling then.

Well, rank has nothing to do with what duties you carry out. If you're qualified, trained, and have the proper security clearance. Back in the day, I was handling medical grade cocaine flakes as an E-3. Now before anyone flips their wig, if you're going to get surgery on your nose, you're probably going to get cocaine on the area as a local anesthetic. It's the best prep for the nose.

Sorry to go OT.

Is E3 like a PFC, or is that what you were promoted to?
<Kpop775>

What's an Gaurd Airman?

It sounds really stupid, that this imbecile and a News station would be given access to anything very important.

And if, like others have said he got to the info when he wasn't supposed to, Shame on those in charge of security.
