Here's Russell talking about how certain successful comedians forgot how he helped him out and doesn't even follow him on IG and never even talked to him about having a movie. I checked and Jo Koy doesn't follow Russell on IG and wasn't even in a cameo in Jo's movie Easter Sunday (which was an awful movie apparently so maybe he dodged a bullet).



I know that when Jo Koy was unkown he was one of the many openers Russell took out on tour - because Jo Koy's own mom said so in an interview.

If you think about it, Jo Koy kind of stole his act from Russell joking about how awkward it is being from an immigrant family to a predominantly white society. Jo Koy's old act was funny but it was when Jamie Masada from the Laugh Factory told him to focus on his mom jokes when he blew up sensationally.

I mean, everybody has the right to be wrong so I don't wanna trash them for the (lacking in) quality of women they choose.
We all know a guy who needs a woman to tell them what they wanna hear more than they want to hear the truth.
And we can't deny them that dynamic if they're cool with it, half of them are only actually funny by accident or sporadically in conversation.
Yet they all claim master craftsman status and pretend crowd work is super insightful deep shit.

Their biggest crime as a collective ecosystem is not actually being very funny. That's the most egregious offense, there's too many mediocre people ending up on our youtube feeds

Jo Koy is sometimes funny on podcasts. When him and Bobby Lee would fight back in the day, it was pretty funny. Standup, not so much. I’ve laughed at plenty of Russell’s material, but he isn’t super great or anything.

Got to let that go. Just help people when you can without expecting some sort of ROI on it.

And poor akaash… That stuff is embarrassing to see. Only watched some clips about it, but man, she does not appear to care much for that guy at all.

I don't think Russell is talking about money or opportunities necessarily but a public thank you or some type of acknowledgement of his good deeds. In different parts of the podcasts he talked about some money trouble but he's ridiculously rich as it is, way richer than Jo Koy even if Jo's rich too.

The whole thing they did like it was a talk show and he was Donahue or something was very cringe worthy. Got through like 10 minutes or so and tapped. They really tried to make light of it, but it didn’t work. I get it, just not for me. He should have made her come out and say she loves and respects him. Would do anything. All that. Any partner should want to do that and make their SO more secure in their position. In their own eyes and to the world. You’re a damn team after all.
