Rough news. Hope they were warned about it. Sucks they’re scrapping an entire division, but at the end of the day, they are a business and have to cut things that aren’t profitable.
And yes hopefully they get rid of at least some WMMA. Rather than trying to create several new weight classes, maybe reduce it to one or two.

This matter's alot that Cejudo is mexican. If you look at boxing the biggest superstars have always been either African Americans or those that speak Spanish. In the past you have Julio Cesar Chavez, Roberto Duran (from Panama still speak spanish), Oscar De lay hoya (broke records in his time).
Now you have Canelo Alvarez as the de facto face of boxing (unless Floyd comes out for his cup of coffee) with Mikey Garcia looking to achieve stardom when he fights spence early next year.
DJ just never clicked for some reason. I think part of the reason why is simply you already had a huge African american star in Jon Jones at the time. As of right now the mexican boxing audience is still a huge lucrative market. They always tried to use Cain to break into that audience but he was so injury prone and he lost against Werdum when it mattered. However they still kept trying to force it afterwards injuries derailed it.
Ali, Leonard, Joshua (Uk), Floyd (not gold but was clearly robbed) were all former Olympic gold medallists that became huge.
I just find it weirdly strange they wouldn't try one last time with Cejudo at the helm when he has two huge factors behind him that have already been proven for success when you have one of them.
Anyway it seems a foregone conclusion that men's flyweights are gone from the UFC. Yet they are introducing a new women's division at the same weight with Sijiara Eubanks at the top of the pack with Valentina-JJ (what fight do you do after that fight which no one wants to see) and still can't even name 5 fighters at women's featherweight but lets keep those divisions around.

If you honestly believe that any % of normal people could beat mighty mouse in a fight, you are supremely delusional...while you have a right not to like watching lower weight classes, don't be totally naive in thinking you, your buddies, your cousins, your brother or your daddy, would last even 1 minute in a fight with MM....that is just insanity. These guys live and breath to train and fight...while "normal" people are only heavier, cause they are fatter and out of shape...if you trimmed all that blubber off of people, how much you think they'd weigh?? some of you guys are really delusional...
