Wales - SA - NZ or Aus - NZ - SA

Bitch of a run either way.

Funnier to knock Wales out though and better to face NZ in a final than a semi but yes it's tough either route.
Biggar 'might' be out for the 1/4 too after Williams knocked him out.

The week off should do England/France/NZ the world of good. Kind of unfair, really, but heh ho. Saying that most teams can probably put out B teams at this stage, so they'll get benefit from game time.

Let's be honest, the entire group stage is kinda pointless, or at least 80% of it. Unfortunately there isn't really the depth to justify a 20 team tournament. England, NZ, Aus etc could put out their 5th team and still beat some of these minnows.

I'm half English and half Welsh........(well 51/49 ;)).

Imagine if NZ or England needed to win their last game to advance......something tells me a contingency plan of some kind would arise.

Massive upset 4 years ago aside, SA would likely beat Japan by 30 points this time round (like they did 4 weeks ago).

Australia and SA both beat the All Blacks 4 -5 weeks ago. Does that make the ABs less deserving of being favorites? Japan in their own country with full crowd support, will at least make it a competition. I think you are over estimating how good SA are.

Lol at comparing Aus > NZ to Japan > SA.

Japan beating SA was literally one of the biggest upsets in sport history. Japan have less than 5% if the match happens.

If Samoa pull off an upset against Ireland a much bigger fuck will be given.

When did SA beat the All Blacks? Have I blocked out another game?

I'd rather NZ play. The last game was still a meh game where NZ were trying things and managing workloads. Italy was to be the prep game for the playoffs. Need a tough, rugged game (which Italy can provide) to get into the mindset of knockout games.

Also, Brodie Retallick needed minutes

Japan beat the number 1 team in the World and everyone favorite to win Ireland. And are in the top 6 teams who have the best chance at winning. Sure they are Number 6, but its the fact that you dont think they have a chance is really uninformed at this point. SA by 3.

In New Zealand a draw is counted as a loss. Especially to SA. New Zealand only just beat Argentina by 4 points, whom people believe are a top 6 side. The fact is its not going to be a walk in the park for SA, Japan will come to play, and are highly rated to knock SA off.

Almost like you don't have a clue.

You're the one acting like its a cake walk for SA when its fucking not. Its almost as if you are completely naive , and havent watched a game of Rugby in your life. And are just jumping on the SA bandwagon, because of their world rating . Try this tact then. Out of all the Quarter finals which one has the most chance of an upset ?

Even as a resident of New Zealand and All Black supporter, Im just as concerned that Ireland get an upset win here like they did in Chicago. Because its the first Tier 1 opponent they've played in 4 weeks.

Biggest chance of an upset in the Quarter finals is Australia beating England. I'd be surprised if we do, I agree with old mate Japan have no chance against South Africa or New Zealand. South Africa would probably start Schalk Brits and then bring on Malcolm Marx at half time when the Japs are tired and he'd run rampant through their forwards.

Australia beating England is more of an outside chance than Japan beating SA tbh.

I dont disagree that SA will win, Im disagreeing that it will be a walk in the park for them. Their biggest threat the rush defense, is also its weakness as it tires them out quicker. I see Japan contesting the ruck once or twice and then kicking the ball down field. Making SA run it back from their own 22. I dont see this being a big blow out and SA will scrap home by 3 points.

Depends on who gets the red card. Most games this RWC hinge on Ben Skeen's shit TMO decisions.
