-a guys trajectory going forward.
Two Royal Rumble's ago the WWE failed the fans in the actual rumble match, and lazily booked it so that Reigns was left with two guys that 100% absolutely would not win.. A child would have known this. It was 1987 booking, and it failed really hard. That ONE bad ending, and the booing it caused against Reigns, really still hasn't subsided. It was part neck-beard love for Bryan, and there are other factors like Reigns not being fat or weird enough to not threaten the modern WWE fan internet hive mind's senses, but what really set it all off was an immature, predictable script that nobody could be down with. You could not have said "Maybe Kane or the Big Show will pull this off." The fans don't buy total BS booking/scripting like that anymore.
I don't love or hate Reigns. I think he fits the role. I will say the hive mind booing is annoying. The modern WWE fan reminds me of militant atheist types that think they are of very high IQ because they realized nobody ever really lived in a fish; WWE fan thinks they have it all figured out because the know the bad guys are acting, and that they are 'supposed' to cheer the good guys. Sometimes you go along with stuff to make it all work.. But I digress.. The booing of Reigns TODAY, literally stems from a 10 minutes of script at the end of that Royal Rumble.
Did the WWE learn their lesson?
