If he does get to where a gi, Then shamrock better be allowed the grab onto it too. The rules generally say you can grab your own trunks, but not your opponents. So if that rule stays true and he gets to wear a gi with it, it's an insane advantage for Gracie.
That's true. Not sure how they'll deal with that. The "no grabbing trunks rule" wasn't in effect in the early UFCs. You could grab clothing, hair, the cage and most everything else. Royce didn't wear a gi vs. Hughes, so I'm not sure if modern MMA/unified rules ever faced this.
