If you're judging wrestlers strictly by their in ring abilities, then you're doing it wrong. None of the other guys you mentioned could hold a candle to Flair's promos, which is half the game, in my opinion. He got real heat during his heel runs, legitimate hatred, not just an indifferent dislike. His entire skill set as a whole puts him in league by himself.

The mic wasn’t a huge deal for me. It was the in-ring for me. I didn’t care a great deal about the mic till I became a young-teen where by then Stone Cold and the Rock were killing it. Even to this day, I’ll laugh at Austin’s mic-work v Vince or the Rock telling people “It doesn’t matter!” Rick Flair? I found him annoying, even today, I look at his stuff and say meh.
With the guys I mentioned, I knew their ring-work was top-notch, and that point of my wrestling fandom, that’s what I cared about.

I always preferred Savage winning the 1993 RR to set-up Bret-Savage at WM. Bret-Yokozuna would have still happened the following year

Didn’t the winner of the Rumble get a title shot at WM? Why was Flair given the title for winning the Rumble?

This was the first time winning the RR actually meant something. The WM title shot didn’t start until next year.

THEE MATCH to have would have had to be Bret Vs. Macho Man at Wrestlemania X.

Macho Man's last shot at greatness. Bret's chance to become the man. They both come into the match as babyfaces only to start switching out as the match gets longer and the stakes get higher. Piper as the guest referee to up the ante. A big fuck you to Hulk Hogan by all three of them. Bret wins in a great closeout spot (ie. Steamboat/Savage) that doesn't kill Macho Man's heat. Macho Man gives Bret the belt, Piper cheers - they all close the show celebrating together!!!

Agreed plus Mach would have actually put Bret over unlike Hogan.
