Roxanne Modafferi Appreciation Thread

Wish her the best. She was OK for a fighter but clearly overachieving her athleticism with grit and hard work... nothing but respect for that.

The female Forrest Griffin?

Only based female to ever fight and honestly i thought she beat nicco montonya
Tara Larosa? And she literally made a guy tap. Not too many WMMA fighters can say that legitimately. Granted it was against an amateur, but still.

Not at all...it didn't make her losing any less enjoyable from my perspective
This. Plus blowing a knee only proves how fragile and un-battle hardened your body is Vs the competition. There's a reason Thai fighters regularly get their knees bashed in by bamboo sticks, it's to get them resistant to injury. Maycee must of skipped that class

Let's face it.
She bored us to hell for like 20 fights.
Didn't learn striking in 25 years, how disrespectful to a sport can you be?

Fucking simps

She is one of the nicest people ever to step into the cage or the ring and is one of the few standard bearers for traditional martial arts. Since I am not, fuck you and everybody that looks like you. I have no idea what kind of miserable piece of shit you have to be to shit on someone like Roxy but I understand your agony and despair having peaked as a Walmart greeter.

Plus Roxy took the first round anyway. The only reason it went to decision is Roxy was too nice to attack Barber's leg.

ill go on record and say she has one of the best chins in WMMA. it literally took Sarah Kaufman slamming her on her head to knock her out.
was very happy to see her beat Maycee Barber
also she shouldve beaten Nicco Montano. Nicco didnt deserve that belt.

She is happily married and has a child now by the way :)

That's awesome! I remember her from the early 2000s being such a nice person compared to the typical MMA crowd.

she was cool, was authentic, and rocking that PRIDE shirt made a fan out of me from the get go.

feels good seeing her with a family now. good for her. nothing but nice things to say about her.

Also she strikes me as one of the most authentic people in the MMA / WMMA world. She did ok in UFC but she did it on her terms and owned her own unique and weird personality and THAT I really dig.
So true

I really really miss her.

Truly was my nerd hero. She lived in Japan so long to become a superhero... like a manga star, studying Ju Jitsu and learning the language even quicker as she is a book nerd.

Honestly, the UFC should hire her. Beloved WMMA figure, well spoken, fluent in English and Japanese, college educated, lives in Vegas. Give her a job Dana
