Because it takes a male and a female (two people) to reproduce, the denominator will either be 1 (for someone who is full), 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, etc.

Try convert 42.67 and 12.50 to fraction form. I'm pretty sure the denominator won't be 1 or a number divisible by 2.

HUH? Why would the denominator have to be divisible by two? In theory and in reality, the denominator could be any rational number. An individual's forebears can possess virtually any percentage of a given ethnicity.
