One third Chinese.

Here we go again.

Obviously 1/3 guy was joking. But for real.

To find the ethnicity of a person for a particular race, divide by half for each parent and add.

Ex:

Dad is full mexican. Mom is full Irish.

% mexican of a son/daughter = 1/2 mex [dad] + 0/2 mex [mom] = 1/2 mex.

% irish of son/daughter = 0/2 irish [dad] + 1/2 irish [mom] = 1/2 irish.

Son/daughter of the above parents would be 1/2 mexican and 1/2 irish (check: 1/2 + 1/2 = 1 aka full).

Therefore you can be full, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32, etc of a particular race. Saying this another way, you have 2 parents, 4 grandparents, 8 great-grandparents, 16 great-great-grandparents, etc.

1/3 is impossible. And for all purposes 1/16 = 0.

Apparently she's Lithuanian but she talks like every Puerto Rican girl that went to my high school.

Pretty sure you only have to be 1/16 for certain Native tribes.

edit (read wrong):

(1/2) / 2 + (1/4) / 2 = 1/4 + 1/8 = 2/8 + 1/8 = 3/8 = 3/8

3/8 Chinese. Of her 8 great-great grandparents, 3 used chopsticks to eat.

Lol, was wondering if you'd catch your mistake. Some other guy even wrote it out above you.

Maybe time for another addy.

Lol yeah I read it wrong at first. And to be fair to the other guy 3/8 is pretty close to 1/3 :)

One-third is possible. For example, if Rose's mom is 42.67 percent Chinese and her dad is 12.50 percent Chinese, Rose would be 33.33 percent Chinese.

Any percentage is possible.

Doesn't matter. We're all equal and everyone should be treated in a way that neglects their race

N shit like that

Nice sig.

I'm literally sitting next to my leather bound copy of Discourse on Method.

Because it takes a male and a female (two people) to reproduce, the denominator will either be 1 (for someone who is full), 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, etc.

Try convert 42.67 and 12.50 to fraction form. I'm pretty sure the denominator won't be 1 or a number divisible by 2.

edit: nvm.

Pat Barry is upset you're all not talking about him now
