Media Ronda Rousey apologizes for her worst take ever.

It's not like she ever acknowledged it before, and no shit people will bring it up considering what it was.

Even if you want to be this super thinker, see through the veil, giga-brained genius who has it all figured out any normal person will rightfully shit on you for having nothing of substance to back up your wild conspiracies except "y'know, the government COULD have done that".
I think it's thinly veiled politics, and after Alex Jones was shut down for the Sandy Hook conspiracy it became a topic that was "conservative" and the pushback is more according to the programmed response of political opposition rather than mass genuine interest to keep misinformation and skepticism at bay.

Ok, there is always someone worse than you so fuck doing the right thing?
She got called out for claiming a horrible event was a conspiracy.
Nah, everyone should strive to do the right thing, and it comes in different forms depending on perspectives, there is never a universal answer on many topics. If 9/11 conspiracists received the same treatment I could agree it was a fair reaction, but sometimes you have to relate that as a common civilian there are many things that are happening we don't outside of whatever is reported. The ones who get it wrong still only had a newspaper article to read and probably believe something darker is going on in the background. Sandy Hook probably happened, but it's still blind to accept all information as it is to reject all information.

I was skeptical of her intentions until I read the whole apology. It's not some boilerplate bullshit that most celebs have publicists write for them where you can immediately tell that damage control is the goal. Nobody can see into another person's soul, but reading those words--they're pretty convincing that this haunts her. As it should, because as a parent I know those people had to go through the absolute worst imaginable thing (and still do, every day until they die) and having someone come in and actually make it worse is beyond the scope of being able to describe.

I don't think this makes her a good person or whatever. There are a lot of corroborated reports of her treating people like shit (including nobodies like makeup people etc that had no choice but to STFU and take it). Maybe coming out with what seems like a truly heartfelt apology for the most egregious thing she's done will open the door to her also looking in the mirror and saying "Wow, I was an absolute cunt for a lot of years to people who didn't deserve it. I should do what I can to make amends and work to be a better person."

Or...perhaps not.

Probably happened? Wtf if wrong with you? People like you are retards, it happened moron and not probably it in fact happened.

Everyone should just stay off social media, and then they wouldn’t have to apologize for every stupid thing they say, and we wouldn’t have a bunch of nerds on the internet with pitchforks, demanding said apology. Even being distasteful, it’s funny how an ex fighter/ pro wrestlers opinions gets people so triggered.
FTFY

At first I thought why bring up old news. But as the internet is forever, a preemptive mea culpa is probably prudent.
Unfortunately wasn't all that preemptive. This was just a day or two after a reddit "ask me anything" she was doing to promote her kickstarter for a graphic novel called "Expect the unexpected" which was competely hijacked to mock her thoughts on it until she left. The entire thing was questions like:

In your graphic novel “EXPECTING THE UNEXPECTED” Will we see something unexpected like you apologizing to or acknowledging the families of the victims of the Sandy Hook Massacre where 20 children were ruthlessly gunned down?

Much like wrestling, a lot of people now think UFC is staged. Seeing as you competed in both, can you shed some light on if they're staged, and while we're at it, can you comment on if the sandy hook shooting was staged?

Would you consider Sandy Hook, or being a better fighter than Amanda Nunes the bigger denial of your career?

Which hook was more devastating to your career: Sandy or Holly Holm's left?

She's probably seeing how Alex Jones is finally getting all of his assets taken and wants to make sure no one comes after her.

Cynical but probably accurate. Most celebrities won't issue public apologies until they've either been caught doing something they shouldn't, called out for something they did ages ago, or it's become apparent that the backlash from a comment, event or position on something has the potential to impact them financially.

i don’t see anything wrong with that take. i personally never thought sandy hook was fake. but this idea that you’re not allowed to question events is absurd, and it’s more dangerous than falsely denying a tragedy.

i respect her less for apologizing for her opinion.

I know what you mean but the difference is Ronda is a somebody unlike the conspiracy theorists in the war room on an MMA forum.
True, but she did it once on Twitter, then deleted her post immediately afterwards. The people in the War Room never retract what they say and just pivot to the next conspiracy and continue to spread BS as long as possible.

only had a newspaper
Hate to break it to you but newspapers were a far superior source of information than internet bros searching the internet and quoting other internet bros who searched the internet.
as a common civilian
I don't think you are a common civilian.
Common denaots prevalent, accepted, popular.
Sandy Hook probably happened
If your logic dictates the only real thing is the thing you personally see what else don't you believe?

She was allowed to question whether that horrific tragedy was real, and she was allowed to post videos and nonsense promoting that conspiracy. She is also allowed to face the consequences for her actions. But her apology seemed sincere.
