A fight that you could not predict, both being capable of knocking each other out at any moment. Romero is only 5'10, but he hits like a truck and is pretty thick.

Romero that put Rockhold away I think would beat Pereira.

Age matters. Years ago I would see Romero as fav, today? Alex would be a very heavy fav

Romero would get head kick ko'd

i don't think so. romero is a low iq fighter, who pretty much folds when he can't bully someone and essentially stalls and does nothing.

Yea I like Romero but his stalling and not doing anything is one of the most annoying things a fighter can do. I'd rather way someone lay and pray then watch someone as gifted as Romero not pull the trigger.

He is way too small to beat Alex at striking and he never uses his wrestling. Easy KO by Alex.

Not really. Yoel likes to stand and do nothing for entire rounds before suddenly exploding.

Would have been a boring fight until Alex finished him

Would've been awesome but I don't think Yoel gets it done

Romero wasn't anything, really.

A chiseled specimen, but A NON-CHAMPION ... in skills and in mindset.

People look at his physique, and athleticism, but his MINDSET and ACTUAL SKILLS were only so-so.
I like Romero but it's hard to disagree with this. It's impressive that he was in so many close fights against top opposition, but all of the athleticism that folks bring up didn't really amount to much in the cage imo. He has a solid resume, but it isn't world-breaking. His MMA wrestling was good offensively, but mediocre defensively and his striking was dangerous af but he lacked aggression in his strategy to make it past some of the elite fighters he lost to.

Yes, exactly. He lacked aggression.

Passive and backpedaled to Costa, passive and backpedaled to Adessanya.

Romero is A POSER more so than an actual, dynamic fighter.

ZERO pressure ...

And, to me, PRESSURE ... and the continuous desire to FORCE THE FIGHT = FIGHTER.

The rest is sparring and/or posing.

He's more a champ than Whittaker ever was IMO
