Rewatch Rockhold vs Costa was WAY closer than I remembered

I thought it was a clear 30-27 win and apparently so did all but 2 of the media scorecards.

That spinning kick Luke landed was amazing, especially because he looked like he was so exhausted he could barely stand.

I remember being a clear 30-27 for Costa where a guy was completely gassed and the other one was even more completely gassed.

Terrible performance for both guys. Good showmanship and resilience shown by Rockhold.
Why were they so gassed? Bc rogaine kept repeating the same thing over and over?
I mean yeah I assume it has to do with money but JFC there's so many other places way better than Utah.
Yeah but none of them will be for as cheap. Probably has some other thing to do with the state and another way to fuck fighters over by being in Utah.

Remember the Costa that ran through people? The guy many of us thought would break Izzy in half?
Where did he go?
It wasn't a mirage. He was a bad ass.
Ever since his title shit disaster he's turned into a comedian who hardly ever fights. Unless he finds himself, Zhat will obliterate him.

That's what I remembered too, but I don't think so after rewatching. Id still go 29-28 Costa, but it was close.

What a bad take dude.

Rockhold widely lost all rounds and was fighting an uphill battle the entire fight.

30-27 Costa.

That's not a close fight.
I thought that before, but rewatch it.
You are incorrect.

There's actually a good case that Rockhold could have won, his body language and posture were just so bad from the cardio failure since they were at elevation in Utah.

Very competitive, sloppy fight though and not the way I remembered it at all.
Makes you just think that Khamzat is going to ‘walk’ through him.

It's a type of performance that makes me think Khamzat is going to run through Costa easily. Not sure how some of you are still favouring him tbh. Costa might be one of the most overrated fighters on the roster currently.

I was about to post this, wtf was that all about ...
I think Rockhold was confronting a lot of things internally, and probably some weird emotional release from a combination of the exhaustion, and the decision to fully empty the tank. Human minds are weird. They are even weirder when running low on oxygen

The Khamzat vs Costa fight will be decided on the ground. I don't think Khamzat is a risk taker. He is going to dive for the legs. I am not sure how good Paulo is on the ground. He didn't really have any issue with Luke. Luke is supposedly some god when he gets top position.

Let me put it this way.

One has only lost to two top 5 middleweights, no wins against current ranked opponents, but is a proven middleweight.
The other has only one good (and close) win at WW. No wins against ranked middleweights or wins against other ranked welterweights.
There is nothing that implies that the former WW will run through the proven MW.
