Rockhold is a great, great fighter

I actually DO feel a little bit bad for Luke after this fight, for the first time ever.

He seemed REALLY amped up and ready to win here. and not quite as over-confident as usual. I thought he might get it done too.

Yoel is just a nightmare. Next level explosiveness and athleticism.
You feel bad for him?You bash him in every thread that's about him but thats okay though because I bash Yoel in all of them.Lmfao

Luke is an excellent fighter. He just seems to be a miserable person. He is a bad winner and an even worse loser. He just has zero personality. It’s unfortunate.

I’m guessing he was a huge dick to all of his team after losing. Just guessing but he seems like that kind a guy.
I heard DC had to fluff him up after.

Yes, with a towel and looking sick.

He have the weight and size advantage after the re-hydratation in every fight. I don't care if he make weight, the night of the fight he is a LHW. Then he should fights LHWs.
Then so should every mw, and every lhw should fight at hw.

Get what youre saying, Luke is big. My point was he made weight while his opponent didnt, so if ANYONE doesnt deserve to fight at mw..

I like Luke he a pretty entertaining fighter. I don't get personally involved in how fighters act outside the octagon.

Rockhold is legit. Seems to have trouble defending against left handed strikes.

I wanna know why he didn't throw a single body kick against Romero...

I have been a strong advocate that Rockhold is the best MW in the world since prior to him arriving in the UFC....I believed this up until midway though the 2nd round of his last fight. I have no idea who that was fighting. I'm struggling with an explanation as to just what in the hell was going on with him. If his fight with Yoel is any indication of his career trajectory? It's headed downward.

Luke is a skilled fighter with serious talent.

He is not a great, great, fighter.

Wrestling B or B-
Ground game A

I would say more a very good fighter than a "great, great" fighter, definitely not the most well-rounded as some proclaimed him back in the day. The lack of offensive wrestling relative to his great ground game... while training at AKA... is a tad odd too (not that necessarily should have been able to take down Romeo but he didn't even try, and doesn't much in general).

I think Luke has decent striking (excellent kicks mitigated by ordinary punching), OK wrestling (underutilised) and a top notch ground game. What lets him down isn't his offence, though he has some work to do with his boxing. It's his striking defence that really hurts him.

I don't even think his chin is that bad tbh. The punches from Romero would have stopped anyone, the spinning kick from Vitor would have stopped anyone. Even Bisping's punches were right on the button and I think would have really hurt most fighters.

So Rockhold is a very good fighter. Not "great, great", but definitely not "average".

Are you new?

I know a lot of people love to kick someone when he's down, but it doesn't change the fact that Rockhold is a great, great fighter. Romero's victory is just more impressive because of that very fact. Rockhold rightfully was criticized for his antics during Bisping fight, but in no way shape or form do I believe he fought cocky against Romero, which was not the reason that he got ktfo, unlike against Bisping.

He's just a victim of an unfortunate circumstance that he fights in, where the middleweight division is a bloody shark tank, filled with amazing, exceptional fighters, completely different from the one during Anderson's reign, which was often touted as the weakest in all of UFC, if not MMA.

I am not even a fan of the guy, but I feel like all these critcism seems way over the top, and the latest defeat does not diminish his accomplishments or did it expose him in any shape or form. A better man won that night, and the show goes on.
Rockhold is good when he's the aggressor, but his striking defense is dog shit. Backing up in a linear line with no headmovement. Too easy to hit.

I do bro, but I legit kinda felt for him here. He really seemed to do everything to want this win, and he didn't seem quite as arrogant as before.

I would not have hated on him for winning here.

I thought he would do better. He just had no answer for every time Yoel would blitz him.He is a great fighter he just needs to work on his striking defense more.

Backing straight up to the cage, is the same reason Arlovski got blasted by Brett Rogers.

Circle, dammit (and not into the power hand, like Bisping v Hendo). SMH.

yoel will get the belt. I think the whittaker fight goes differently
