Robocop or The Terminator? (Read post #1)

T1, the whole movie had an action level like it was shot out of a cannon. The only lull is introducing Linda Hamilton. From there it is constant action but not just for the sake of action. The Terminator was a singularly driven machine with one purpose and he was going in a straight line from point A to point B for the shortest distance and anything in his way was getting cut down.

Robocop was great in that it had a funny villain, the commercials and OCP stuff was funny and the action was great. Weller did a great job.

That all said they are both action movies and if I'm grading action movie vs action movie it's gotta be T1.

That said, if push comes to shove, I still prefer Terminator (the first one, not the second). Not only was it a better movie (that cost a buck fifty to make) it created a classic franchise. Michael Biehn's fanatical focus and intensity really put this film over the top for me.

True. It's easy to see Arnold being the perfect Terminator, people tend to forget how much Biehn really contributed to his credibility. The way he talked about him really added another dimension of terror to the Terminator character.

Robocop is on like Big Trouble of Little China level (which is not bad, but its just a fun badass movie) while Terminator is on like Alien level. Not close. Terminator 2 was badass for it's awesome action and breakthrough in special effects, but over all Terminator 1 was better imo; it relied on its tense pace and feel, rather than special FX. You could almost blame the way all the crappy summer movies are nowadays that are now filmed almost entirely in green screen, special effect rooms on Terminators 2 popularity lol

I just watched Robocop for the first time in many years.
I enjoyed it. Mostly due to nostalgia.
The story is solid but it has not aged well. I usually hate re-makes, but they could do a re-make and have it with a more gritty cyberpunk atmo.
That would be amazing.
