Robocop or The Terminator? (Read post #1)

I'm also going with Terminator, cause i think Skynet would download into Robocop and re-write his software turning him back into the machine OCP always wanted. Now he kills all humans for Skynet.--NM thought this was a who would win thread.
I like Robocop the movie better, all the subversive jokes and nuances make it more enjoyable i think. Plus the gore.

Also, T1>T2 IMO. Arnold was just made for that role. Really can't go wrong with any ofthese movies though.

I liked the darker tone and thought Arnold was the more intimidating villain. Played out more like a horror movie. Both movies are awesome...that's just me.

On topic: Neither film has aged well, but Terminator 1 is the better film. Robocop is at least a good film tho.

It's really a tough one. Both movies are completely different.

That being said, I'd be more likely to re-watch Robocop than T-1.

Robocop is the most overrated movie ever made.

Even as a kid I wasn't entertained by it.

But T1 is quite handily winning the poll so far. The truth is I never got into all the hoopla about Terminator until T2 came out.

If you want to compare the whole franchises against each other then you have Terminator being pretty much equal to Robocop and T2 the best of them all. Even more so once you get into comparing later on in the series while T3 and TS were average movies they were still way better then any of the Robocop sequels.

Robocop is one of my favorite action movies of all time. Compelling story, fantastic characters, visceral action, and one of the best villains in the history of the genre, Clarence Boddicker. I absolutely adore this movie even if a few of the effects haven't aged well.

That said, if push comes to shove, I still prefer Terminator (the first one, not the second). Not only was it a better movie (that cost a buck fifty to make) it created a classic franchise. Michael Biehn's fanatical focus and intensity really put this film over the top for me.

I really wish I could find a clip of his interrogation scene, it's one of my favorites.

But it was a close decision for me, Robocop was amazing, especially for the time.

And Clarence was amazing.
