This is the most one sided "title eliminator" in a while lol, Whittaker will be like a -500 betting fav to win. :D

I'm becoming a dricus fan now. If you watch his last 2 fights it is unbelievable hes made it this far. Imagine if something flukey happens and he gets a title shot out of this

I mean, DDP is literally the highest-ranked MW that Izzy hasn't already beat. His fighting style looks sloppy as hell but he's undefeated (5-0) in the UFC and overall is on a 7-fight win streak with 6 finishes. Despite having like 8% breathing capacity in his nose until a recent surgery.

If he beats Rob he definitely deserves a shot.

They are, thankfully not vs Whittaker who'd likely beat him. It's going to Khamzat vs Costa in Abubm Dhabi and if Borz wins hes going to fight for the belt. Seems there's truth to Khamzat having visa issues too.

It seems like matchmakers hate fresh contenders. First allen vs. Holloway, now ddp vs Whittaker. They keep feeding the only fresh contenders to the hardest possible challenger they could possibly give them.

Massive motivation for Whittaker as if he wins, he gets another title-fight AND it will be in Sydney !
He missed the Perth event so he must be absolutely pumped to have not only another title-shot on offer but in his native Australia.

Nothing against Du Plessis, he is an exciting and fun dude from Seth Efrika but I do kinda hope Whittaker gets the W in July.
Du Plessis will have his time, he is very promising. Should be a fantastic fight I think. Ain't gonna be too much grappling in this one!
 
Looks like Driscus's win streak is coming to an end.
 
Remember when Dana said Izzy was blowing up his phone to fight again this summer lol? I said "Aka Dana is blowing up Izzy's phone to fight again this summer". Looks like Izzy doesn't wanna fight again until the fall/winter & thus Dana made this #1 contender fight.

Khamzat vs Costa in OCT

UFC hoping to set up Izzy vs Khamzat for UFC 300. I could see Rob &/or Costa both upsetting these semi-plans.
 
This is gonna be an absolute schooling by Rob

There is a seriously alarming skill discrepancy between Dricus and Rob. It's all gonna be on the feet, I highly doubt he can take Rob down.

Yeah cause so many guys are finishing Yoel, Kelvin, Vettori, Cannonier etc..

He probably should have finished Till but he didn't do very well that fight. The rest of his opponents are all guys who aren't easily finished.

I'm very confident Rob gets the finish in this one.
