Whitaker wins easy with 5 rds of lay n pray or a sub. Alex loses to first true grappler he fights.

I was just gonna post this. Brunson Vettori and Khamzat have the best chance. Those guys will drain him, Izzy's ground game wasn't even close to their level and he still had success against Alex

Alex does have Glover on his side so they better jump into the octagon as soon as they can or he will continue to improve on the ground and avoid being held down

Whitakker would have to wrestle. Whitakker isn't really a wrestler by trade so I'm not sure how effective he'll be or how his gas tank will be with a wrestling heavy gameplan.

Definitely a match up I'd love to see though. Poatan is huge but with suspect TDD and long legs any wrestler, would be attacking his legs at will and drag him to the ground.

Rob has to shoot in the first minute, if he isn't able to keep Alex on the ground for atleast 90% of the fight, he is getting KO'd. I don't trust his chin to hold up against Poatan.

Would Rob actually use his wrestling to mix it up? I personally don't think he has anything in the stand up department to offer, at least not this version of Whittaker.

Robert said he wanted to train with Khamzat at some point.

This would be the perfect chance. He should do his entire camp with him for this one.

Robert is a great striker. He has outstruck everybody except Adesanya at MW and the 2nd fight was super close.

Izzy frozen last night but had Pereira almost finished at the end of the first round. Alex can be beaten. And his ground game is pretty terrible.

If Rob tries to stand, he gets starched. He could probably survive and win an easy decision if he wrestles the whole time

This is why the fightvAlex needs to call for isxa rematch Izzy is literally his easiest fight. He needs time for Glover to learn his ass in TDD .......if Izzy gets you down ....... <{CMPALM}>

Why is all wrestling "panic wrestling"? Obviously Bobby would wrestle, no panic involved. This is MMA.
Because he would be panic wrestling after he gets into an exchange with Alex, obviously. Not all wrestling is panic wrestling but that's the kind I assume Robert would be forced to do if he didn't finish him early on because we all see he can carry that power into later rounds.

Is it just me or did Alex's wrestling actually look quite good vs Izzy? I know he got reversed in the 3rd but that happened after an Alex takedown which he probably would not do vs Bobby.

The idea he's going to be easy picking for anyone with ok wrestling to me feels like a cope MMA fans have always had when a kickboxer has some sucess, sometimes its true but a lot of the time it isnt. The idea that good takedown defence is an impossibly difficult skill that takes 5+ years or pure MMA training to master when I think history shows otherwise, wrestling is actually the easiest MMA skill to neutralise.

Whitaker has some extremely underrated takedowns - his timing is quite good

Whittaker's fight to lose

Is he a true grappler? I know his credentials and he has shown it in some fights. But it takes a prime Jacare, Romero, Weidman, Kennedy etc. to grapplefuck him.

MV probably matches up better. He's big and strong and can clinch all day.

It doesn't take any prime guys you listed to grappler Alex up. Lmao
