I'd say I'm more surprised at how quickly it happened, just a year ago both Whittaker and Izzy were seen as the two dudes running the division. Within just two months both got handily beaten.
Yes while they were shown to be beatable prior to those results, at the time they beat nearly every top ranked guy and it didn't seem like they were many threats to them.
I especially don't think many predicted DDP and Sean to be the ones to do it.

Personally while I favored Whittaker to win by decision before the fight, I knew DDP had some of the tools to give him and felt he was definitely being a bit underestimated. Still a big upset, even moreso considering how easy he made it look.

Now for Izzy/Strickland, I gave Strickland little to no chance lol. I honestly thought Izzy was either gonna crack his defense early or get a clear decision win, I straight up said Sean was layup and he had pretty much no path to victory with his style haha. Not only did he win, he made it look easy by getting 49-46 across the board which was insane to me and one of the last results I expected.
Made me look stupid that's for sure.

Idk how long either will stay on top, IMO I think Sean will get that many defenses in but who knows at this point.
DDP is sorta interesting, he has some decent tools and a solid build that compliments his style. However, that style also usually makes his fights a lot closer then they needed to be. It's still too early to tell with him, that being said I really liked him being more patient and sticking to a gameplan in the Whittaker fight so hopefully he does more of that instead of constantly charging his opponents lol.

I don't want to get too nationalist but every non-Chinese person who travels there for a job says it's the most dishonest, corrupt place they've ever seen. Ordering goods from a local company while you're there, they will show you one product and then send an inferior product in your bulk order. When you try to complain they will just close down and re-open under a different name. Fly-by-night is the norm there. Everyone recommends not to take any job positions there.

He had to do was say he’s African born & represents NZ as a champion. He’s gotten all bent out of shape because Dricus who actually born in South Africa and represents the Continent of Africa, lives and trains out there but is not traditionally what the world perceives as African, in Adesanya’s eyes it’s all because of Skin tone.

Strickland broke Adesanya at the press conference, Adesanya was so smitten And confused about his identity he even called himself South African.

Adesanya is just confused and honestly deep down he knows Africa is just footnote in his life, he’s a Chinese and a Kiwi at this point.

The problem with this generation, or I should more accurately say society today in general is that people like YOU always want to put someone in a box and make prejudice assumptions with little info about the person.

A lot of people here only see things in black and white. And no I'm not talking about race. So he went to a BLM rally. He also spoke about growing from that after and that he was emotionally reacting to something rather than responding. And that in the future he would respond and not react.

Israel was also probably the only person to publicly defend Joe Rogan and call out the real reason behind the "N" word controversy Joe was dealing with. That doesn't sound like something a racebaiter does.

He dyed his hair pink to show that things like that don't define his masculinity. But Israel always says that he believes men should be men, in strong and dangerous. Not controlled because you are weak. He references Jordan Peterson often.

So maybe he doesn't fit the narrative a lot of you try and push. Everyone doesn't just agree with one side on every subject.

People say Strickland is "real". And I don't doubt that he is. But Adesanya is too. Just because he's different doesn't mean his expression isn't true to himself.

I'm basically indifferent to Izzy personally... not a fan or a hater.

But I'm appreciative of this post for sharing the truth.
