Sean Strickland Responds to Robert Whittaker’s Callout

I like it. It'll get Bobby knuckles back in the win collum before he heads to 205.

Would love to see Bobby knuckles and Strickland fight. In fact I would love to see Bobby Knuckles b**** slap Strickland a bit. Why does it have to take place in Australia? It is an American promotion after all..

Whittaker vs, Strickland is a fair fight I would watch, and it would be nice if it were broadcast in the USA before midnight, as would happen on a card down under. Whittaker is the site beggar in this situation though, and as such Strickland should be the site chooser.

Good matchup, don't think it would be a boring fight. Their style could make it more interesting than their usual fights.
Definately a standup match.

Whitaker has more power and a good high kick.
Strickland also could catch Whitaker, who has tendencies to get hurt.

Strickland applies pressure and goes forward. Whitaker bounces around and could get tired in a 5 rounder from the pressure.

Could be a fun striking match with high output.

Yeah this is the biggest problem with Strickland, he doesn't fight to win, he lacks urgency, he just doesn't have urgency in fights where he is losing and does the same thing on loop which isn't working.

He had the same problem at WW as well against much smaller guys, just no urgency, there has been quite a lot of close'ish fights where he is losing and he doesn't have any urgency to let go, just keeps doing jab stare jab stare jab stare and a very occasional push kick lol.

All these fights he lost decisions where he has no urgency, just keeps doing the same thing when he is losing, its a huge flaw.

Ponzinibo
Cannonier
2 DDP fights
Not so much Usman because it was a clean loss (however still a lack of urgency to throw hard shots)
To be fair most of the fightera have no urgency

After RDR I think Whittaker wouldn't withstand pressure

Whittaker drifted away from gatekeeper and has become a name for someone else's Resume.

Strickland didn't show up for DDP II.

This has all the makings of an uninspiring showdown --

UNLESS both these former Champs show more passion than a Walmart Shopper looking for toilet paper and socks...

I want to see Strickland against some of the new MWs (Caio, RDR, Fluffy, etc). Tired of UFC keeping the guys with names in a bubble.

Where is Sean's head at this point, nobody really knows? He is either done with the UFC or the only guy who can actually beat DDP but not really pumped to fight Khamzat. He already beat Imavov badly on short notice, destroyed Paolo and for some reason it was a split, destroyed Izzy, Beat DDP once, should of had the nod in the Jared fight..

I think Rob won the RDR fight but since he did not and people are fine with it, Sean fighting him is probably dumb because I think he beats RDR and Caio. Fluffy is a wildcard and I think possibly the best of all the newcomers so not really sure how that goes. If he just wants the money then fighting Rob would be fun but I still think he wins only because of how hard it is for people to deal with his style when they see it for the first time and Rob is not getting him down.
