Robert Whitaker Has To, Has To, Has To Call Out Khamzat!!!

"Fuck the belt, I'm coming for his head!"
-Robert Whittaker

Does Whittaker want to beat Izzy? Or does he just want the belt?

Robert is in a tough spot. He has all the talent. He has the credentials. He has supporters. He just doesn't have real HYPE, especially when talking about a crack at the champ.

Rob has to take a risk. Don't waste your prime. He's beaten everyone else relevant at 185. I don't know exactly what's next for Poatan so let's leave him put of it for now.

Why not call out the biggest hype train in the game? I'm sure if he is persistent, Dana will put Rob in there over Costa, who has done absolutely nothing since losing to Izzy.

If he can dominate and/or finish Borz, then he must call out Israel specifically and immediately.

"I lost the first fight. I feel I beat you the second time. The third time I'll finish you and leave no doubt!!!"
Whittaker should call out Pereira and convince him to stay at MW. That fight would be dynamite.

Whittaker vs. Chimaev
Costa vs. Du Plessis
Cannonier vs. Vettori
Strickland vs. Gastelum

Strickland vs KG would be awesome. Sean would be forced to engage against like someone KG and we would get to see exactly how good he really is.

I think he has suspect defense that's covered up by decent footwork and cardio.

So many great matchups at 185.
Adesanya vs Jan Blachowicz
Chimaev vs Du Plessis
Adesanya vs winner of Chimeav-Du Plessis
Whittaker vs Pereira
Vettori vs Cannonier
Gastelum vs Strickland

You don't think it makes sense?
Costa and him have been talking about fighting for a long time.

Someone needs to shut Paula up again because he's back to being lippy again.

Also, a lot of Sherdog seems to think this dummy is going to beat the shit out of Khamzat when they fight so I really want to see it so I can see how badly Khamzat dominates him

I think no one at MW is beating Izzy except possibly Alex & Khamzat. Since Alex might be moving up &/or probably isn't getting another shot anytime soon, Robert's best hope is that Khamzat beats Izzy & Rob fights Khamzat for the belt. By Rob eliminating Khamzat from title contention, it probably eliminates his own hope of ever regaining the belt. The 2nd fight was competitive but I just don't think Rob can beat Izzy
Don't forget if Khamzat beats Izzy, Izzy will get a rematch. So Khamzat beats Costa in Sept/Oct, Izzy beats DPP. Izzy v Khamzat in Feb/March next year, Khamzat wins (which I don't think happens), rematch happens in Aug/Sept 2024, Khamzat wins again, then Whittaker gets his shot in 2025 at the title vs Khamzat.

Hoping Izzy loses to Khamzat isn't really a plan either for Whittaker. He has already sat out for 7 months, he is healthy and wants a fight and the UFC has told him wait. What's he meant to for 18-24 months if he can't get a title shot, and only has to fight worse and worse guys to find people he hasn't beat.

I personally think he should take a 205 fight, puts him in that title picture with a win, doesn't kill him off at 185 with a loss, and far more interesting than watching him beat the lower order 185 fighters with ease. Whittaker v Jan at 205 is what I want to see.

Strickland vs KG would be awesome. Sean would be forced to engage against like someone KG and we would get to see exactly how good he really is.

I think he has suspect defense that's covered up by decent footwork and cardio.
The last Kelvin we saw would light up and probably stop Strickland.

pretty sure Bobby Knuckles covered this in his recent Submission Radio interview.

Hamfat has NEVER EVEN FOUGHT IN HIS DIVISION,
and Knuckles is on the edge of a title shot

Dumb. AS. Fuck.

the fact that none of them do, none of them want to be the guy who spoils his parade, even after seeing gilbert burns go toe to toe with him, says a fucking helluva lot. they are scared deep down, don't want that heat, don't want to lose their current positioning, leverage, all that shit. totally weak. not one guy is saying he'll take him out, he'll shut him down, etc.
